Motorola Xoom Will Be Taking The Touchscreen Technology To A Different Level
The craze for the tablet PC segment amongst people looked to be well and truly over with the failure of continuous tablet PCs. However, with the launch of the Apple iPad, it has totally changed. Now, a number of companies are launching their own products in order to compete in this segment and Motorola is one of the latest entrants into this race. The Motorola XOOM is a product that Motorola launching in order to compete with the Apple iPad, but taking a look at the features of this new tablet PC, it does not take long to realise that it will likely be the Apple iPad that will be attempting to match the Motorola product.
The impressive display that measures 10.1 inches in size is one of the reasons for that. It might be slightly larger than the 9.7 inch display of the Apple iPad, but it uses much higher resolution than the Apple product. It is 1280 x 800 pixels as opposed to the 1024 x 600 pixels in the Apple iPad. This significant increase in the resolution has massively put a gap between these two products. However, it is not the only option ...
... that has done so because there are plenty of options within the Motorola XOOM that only serve to widen the gap between this and the Apple iPad. The internal memory of the Motorola XOOM is one such reason. Up until now, the Apple iPad used by the only product that came with three different memory options, but the Motorola XOOM has more than matched the Apple iPad in this regard.
The Motorola XOOM will be bringing the best out of the 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB memory option by being able to offer the external memory card support as well. One can use up to 32 GB memory cards in the Motorola XOOM to increase the internal memory even more. The Motorola XOOM will not be having any trouble accessing this amount of memory due to the presence of dual core processors. It is a significant change between this tablet PC and the Apple iPad, which has so far been the King of the segment. However, given the fact that it will be using a single core processor as opposed to the dual core one in the Motorola XOOM makes all the difference. Even though they might be rated at the same 1 GHz, the dual core processor is much more appealing not only due to the increasing power, but also due to the increase in efficiency as well.
The Motorola XOOM will be coming with dual cameras, with one camera located in the rear of the tablet PC and the other being located in the front of the tablet PC. The rear camera will be a five megapixel unit, while the front camera is a two megapixel unit. The Motorola XOOM is currently available in the pre-order market in the UK for around £ 600 for the 32 GB version. Besides that you may also wish to take a look at Motorola Milestone 2 for other available deals.
