The Dallas Cowboys and Pittsburgh Steelers squared off in the Super Bowl in 1976. This Super Bowl was known as Super Bowl X. The previous Super Bowl was between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Minnesota Vikings. The game was won by the Pittsburgh Steelers by a score of 16-6. The Steelers played well through the next season and found their way back to the Super Bowl. Their opponents this year would be the Dallas Cowboys.
While the Steelers had a dominant defense that helped them win the previous year, the Cowboys were actually able to put the first points on the board in this game. The Cowboys were led by Staubach at quarterback and he managed to find Pearson in the end zone for a 29 yard pass. After an extra-point the Cowboys would be up 7-0.

The Steelers were going to put up a fight and managed to put up some points before the end of the 1st quarter. Terry Bradshaw found Grossman in the end zone for a 7 yard touchdown pass. The extra-point was good and the game was tied at 7-7.

The Steelers stepped things up defensively after their first touchdown allowed and the only points scored in the 2nd quarter came ...
... from a 36 yard field goal for the Cowboys. The Cowboys were up 10-7 at halftime.

The 3rd quarter featured a higher intensity from both teams defensively and neither team managed to put points on the board.

The 4th quarter had some dominant plays from the Steelers on defense as Pittsburgh managed to put 2 points on the board with a safety. The score was now 10-9 in favor of the Cowboys.

The Steelers kept things going offensively and put up two more field goals from 36 and 18 yards. The Steelers continued to roll as Terry Bradshaw found Lynn Swann for a 64 yard pass in what is one of the most famous plays in NFL history. The Steelers scored a touchdown on the play, but failed to convert the extra-point. They were up 21-10 with not much time left on the clock.

The Cowboys were not ready to give up despite the fact that time was winding down. The Cowboys put together a drive and Staubach found Howard for a 34 yard pass. The Cowboys made the point after attempt and narrowed the lead down to 4 points in favor of the Steelers. The score was 21-17.

The Cowboys were unable to score again, and the game would ultimately end in favor of the Steelers. The Steelers would become back-to-back Super Bowl Champions with the victory. Lynn Swann was named Super Bowl MVP and finished with 161 yards receiving on 4 catches during the game. Terry Bradshaw also had a solid game with 209 yards passing and 2 touchdowns with no interceptions. In the running game Franco Harris managed to chip in 82 yards rushing on 27 carries. The defense managed to intercept Staubach 3 times over the course of the game to limit the offensive opportunities of the Cowboys.
