The Singer Corporation was first established as a sewing machine manufacturer in 1851, trading as I.M Singer & Co, by Isaac Merritt Singer and a New York lawyer by the name of Edward Clark.

The first large mass production factory for Singer was built in 1863 in Elizabeth, New Jersey. Two years later in 1865, I.M Singer & Co, was renamed and began trading as Singer Manufacturing Company. 1963 brought in a new look to the company and along with it a new trading name of The Singer Company. Its claim to fame is the production of high quality sewing machines.

With the status of a global corporation, the company is now based in La Vergne, Tennessee. It has many competing companies, however, Singers main competition are Brother Industries and a subsidiary of the Toyota Group (a company that manufactures Toyota, Necchi and E&R Classic Sewing Machines), Aisin Seiki.

Singer has a great production history and many, if not all, their older model machines have become antiques, commanding high auction bids. Four of the most popular models are from their very beginnings: Singer model 12K fiddle-bed from 1878, ...
... Singer model 66 with Lotus decals from 1922, Singer model 99 from 1939 and the Singer Featherweight model 222k from 1954.

Nowadays, Singer has many ranges of models and styles to choose from. One of the great Singer ranges is the Singer Quantum. The range consists of four models at the moment and has features for all your needs.

The Singer Quantum 7322 Décor is a more affordable model with the ability to be versatile. This lovely Singer model has 22 built-in stitch patterns so you are never out of options to create the perfect piece. It has a built in 4 step Button Holer. The adjustable pressure and automatic tension makes working with thick and thin fabrics easy for every user. You can drop the feed dogs for any free hand projects you may have such as quilting, embroidery and monogramming.

The Singer Quantum 7380 Quilter is all that's needed for any quilting project. Although this model of Singer Quantum is purpose built for quilting, it still has all the standard sewing functions expected of a machine. With 34 built in stitch patterns, the user is able to make many different designs. This machine has the same drop feed feature as the Quantum 7322 model. As well as the automatic tension feature.

The Singer Quantum XL-150 has had an upgrade. It boasts a stitch pattern directory of 401 which includes alphanumeric stitch patterns. An integrated Dual Feed System allows for even fabric feeding. The XL-150 also has the Hands-free Presser Foot Lifter, for more control over the fabric.
It has a Long Arm for the larger projects such as quilting and home decoration.

The Singer Quantum 9960 Stylist is the biggest of all with 600 built in stitch patterns, including alphanumeric stitch patterns, 13 fully automatic Button Holes, one touch automatic thread cutter, extension table for large projects and many more.

If you are looking for a sewing machine of quality, look no further than the Singer Quantum Range.
