All vehicles including cars are meant to move. But you cannot move in dark figuratively as well as literally. The driver of the car has to see where he is moving and headlights come to his help at night or when the visibility is otherwise poor. But that is not enough, it is equally important that others on the road are also able to see that vehicle. It is only then that some order can prevail on the road. Moreover others should be able to notice the vehicle in day time as well as night, not only from the front but also from the rear. Tail lights alert the driver who follows your car of your presence on the road, whether it is day or night. These are a pair of lights located on the rear of a car and are red in color. The red color is preferred because lights of that color can be seen from a longer distance even if there is fog. Brighter lights like LED lights are preferred as they can be seen from a longer distance and allow more time to the driver to make any adjustments that may be demanded by looking to traffic on the road.

Over the years tail lights have evolved from being a mere pair of lights on the rear, there ...
... are more lights now in the tail light assembly. There are turn lights which are yellow in color which indicate whether the vehicle will be turning left or right. There are lights which shine when you intend to stop the vehicle or proceed in the reverse gear. There are parking lights as well. All such information conveyed through tail lights is helpful in maintaining safety on the road.

As is obvious the tail lights are primarily a safety feature but since they are so visible and attract attention their designers also use them to serve as a decorative feature. They now cover a larger area and are available in many designs. If you smartly select aftermarket tail lights you can customize your car with their help. To the onlookers they will tell their own tale. You can know more about tail lights at www.ilovebodykits.com.
