Vishvakarma marriage rituals at a glance
There are four types of marriage rituals that complete a marriage ceremony in the Vishwakarma community. Starting with:
Kanyadaan: In the very first ritual of the cremony, the would be bride is brought in a basket to the 'mandap'. In the entire ceremony, the couple is not allowed to see each other and the parents of bride are supposed to wash the groom's feet.
Kanyadaan Akshata: This ceremony happens right after the tying of the 'mangalsutra'. Garlands are exchanged and the couple are showered with rice and flower petals.
Saptapadi: The last of the ceremony, wherein the couple circle the fire seven times in order to bring the whole marriage ceremony to an end.
