Top Of The Notch Cisco C3560 Switch Examination.
WS-C3560X-48P-L
WS-C3560X-48P-L switches are enterprise-class independent switches. They offer high
availability, scalability, security, efficiency with PoE+, optional modules
uplink network, redundant power supplies and MAC security. All models support
network with four SFP ports or two 1G SFP or two 10G SFP + uplinks. IP Service
features are accessible as an optional upgrade at the time of booking or via a
license at a later date. A 440 W DC power supply is available as a configurable
option on all switch models.
StackWise Plus technology has built a great
success, StackWise technology is a premier leader in the industry, which has a
stacking architecture optimized for GbE. StackWise technology is invented to
respond to additions and deletions while keeping the performance constant. Stack
operates as a single switching unit that is managed by a master switch elected
from the member switches. Master switches automatically creates and updates all
the switches and all the optional routing tables. The working stack can accept
...
... new members or remove existing ones without interruption in service. StackWise
creates a very flexible system with up to nine individual switches it also
provides simplified administration of a single IP address, a telnet session, a
command line interface and the automotive version of the amendment, automatic
configuration, and more.
StackWise Plus supports all the features of StackWise and provides
backward compatibility with the WS-C3560X-48P-L while improving the turnover of
the system up to 64 Gbps. StackWise Plus also allows for local switching in the
Cisco Catalyst 3750-X series. Local switch packets coming into a port in the
WS-C3560X-48P-L
Switches for another port on this switch do not have to traverse the stack ring,
which will increase the transmission capacity of the switch.
WS-C3560X-48P-L
stacks up to nine switches as a single logical unit for a total of 432 Ethernet
10/100/1000 ports with 18 10 GbE ports. Individual 10/100/1000 units can be
assembled in any combination to evolve with the needs presented by the actual
network.
StackPower can be set to power-sharing arrangements or termination.
In a power-sharing state of power, all power supplies are stacked together and
divided by switches in the stack. In redundant mode, where the budget for the
total power, calculated on the stack, the maximum power output is not included.
This power is in reserve and used to keep the power switches and attached
devices, if a power failure occurs, the network operates without interruption.
After the failure of a power supply, changes in your StackPower will become
power sharing.
StackPower allows customers to simply add additional power to a position
in the stack, or to provide redundant power for a member of the battery or
simply to add more power to the pool. StackPower eliminates the need for an
external redundant power system or the installation of dual power in all stack
members.
In addition to basic IP and fixed IP services functionality,
WS-C3560X-48P-L comes with a base of new LAN features. The function of three
sets available in all Cisco Catalyst 3750-X 3560-X Series Switches are: LAN Base
- Improving Predictive IP services, Baseline company IP Services and Enterprise
IP Services.
LAN Base offers improved functionality of intelligent services that
include comprehensive Layer 2 functions. IP core functions gives you basic
business services, in addition to all the functions of LAN Base. IP core also
includes support for access to routed access, Stackpower, and MACSec. IP
provides the full functionality of Enterprise Services, which includes advanced
Layer 3 features such as Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol, Open
shortest path first, Border Gateway Protocol, Protocol Independent Multicast and
IPv6 routing such as OSPFv3 and EIGRPv6. IP Services feature also includes a
feature initiator of the Embedded Event Manager and IP service-level agreements.
All functionality of the software sets support the advanced security, QoS
and management capabilities. IP Services features are available only for an
upgrade there is no dedicated IP Services switch model. Cisco Catalyst 3750
Series Switches X LAN Base properties can be stacked with other Cisco Catalyst
3750-X LAN Base Series Switch. Stack Base LAN Switch IP Base or IP Services
features are not supported.
Cisco Catalyst 3750-X 3560-X series Main features: 24/48, 10/100/1000 PoE
+ and non-PoE models, Optional four Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) and two SFP uplinks
10 GbE SFP + network modules, Industry first PoE + with 30W of power for all
ports in one rack unit and also Two modular redundant power supplies and fans.
Media Access Control Security (MACSec) hardware encryption, IPv4 and IPv6
routing, multicast routing, quality of service (QoS features), and security, USB
type-A and type-B ports for storage and out of band Ethernet management port.
In addition to the above features, the Cisco Catalyst 3750-X also offers
StackPower which is an innovative feature for the first time in the industry to
share power among the members of the technology stack, Cisco StackWise Plus for
easy use and resilience of 64 Gb / s throughput, investment protection with
support for all other models in the Cisco Catalyst 3750 Switch.
All models
can be configured with four optional modules GbE or two 10 GbE network modules.
Models are available with LAN Base or IP Base feature set. In addition to
IP-base and IP services feature, the Cisco Catalyst 3750-3560-X and 3750-X
series are supplied with a new LAN Base feature set. The role of three groups
available to all Cisco Catalyst 3750-X, 3560-X Series switches are the
following: LAN Base Improving Intelligent IP services, Baseline IP Services and
simple Business Services.
The WS-C3560X-48P-L StackPower Cisco introduces the
innovative technology capable of interconnecting the system that allows the
power supply in a cell as a common resource shared by all switches. StackPower
Cisco unifies the individual power switches installed and creates a group of
power to direct that power when necessary. This feature is only available in the
WS-C3560X-48P-L switches or IP based IP services feature set. Up to four
switches can be configured in a stack StackPower special connector in the back
of the switch with StackPower cable, which is different from the StackWise
cables available in all Cisco Catalyst 3750 models.
WS-C3560X-48P-L switches
support a voluntary network module for uplink ports. The switch configuration by
default does not include the uplink module, you can choose four GbE ports
(3kx-NM-1G) or network module with two 10 GbE ports (3kx-NM-10G) at the time of
purchasing the power switch. 10GbE uplink module has four physical ports and two
SFP + ports and two SFP standard. SFP + connector supports both 10GbE and GbE
ports, allowing the customer to use the investment SFP GbE and 10 GbE update
when business requirements change, without having to do a complete upgrade of an
access switch. All uplink modules are hot-swappable.
These items are mostly unaffordable for home users, but this switch is
built for enterprise uses. When you are thinking of procuring one for yourself,
or even your company, note that there are abundant companies, that sell these
used or refurbished. Some of these companies can even repair your switches,
saving you some serious dollars, and in the process making the planet "greener".
Eco-friendliness rules.
