HWIC-4T

The HWIC-4T is a 4-port high-speed WAN interface card. The protocols supported
are asynchronous, clear ASYNC, HDLC, transparent and Bisync. Cisco serial and
asynchronous high-speed interface card provides highly flexible connections for
Cisco 1800, 1900, 2800, 2900, 3800 and 3900 Series Integrated Services Routers.
Cisco HWIC-4T helps customers enable applications such as WAN aggregation, legacy protocol
transport, console server, and dial access over. Customers can mix and match
HWIC with cost effective solutions for common networking problems such as remote
network management, external telephone modem access, WAN aggregation at low
density, legacy transport protocol, high port density.

The Cisco 1 port BRIS / TWIC extends the commitment to providing
customers with maximum flexibility and investment protection, WIC modules are
compatible with other award winning router platforms. When the requirements of
WAN bandwidth, and service providers price change, users can easily change WAN
services either by changing the ...
... software configuration or replacing the WIC. The
same card can be used in Cisco 1600, 1700, 1800, 1900, 2600, 2800, 2900, 3700,
3800, 3900 Series Integrated Services Routers, the number of storage units can
be reduced, and WIC can be redeployed elsewhere. An integrated solution has
fewer components, resulting in fewer points of failure (for example, less power
and fewer wires.) This leads to an improvement WIC-1B-S/T-V3 reliability. The
Cisco offers all the features of the Cisco WIC-1B-S / T and can be deployed
easily without any need to be trained for the task previously. When installed in
a Cisco 2600, 3600, 3700, 1800, 1900, 2800, 2900, 3800, 3900 Series Router,
Cisco WIC-1B-S/T-V3 does not change the standards (safety, EMC,
telecommunications, network approval and power) of the router itself. The
network modules provide various port densities to meet customer needs at
different prices. The option allows customers to consolidate NT1 integrated
customer premises equipment to provide multifunction dial access servers,
routers, and other features in Cisco branch office environments. WAN interface
card offers a choice of a single ISDN BRI port (with optional NT1).
Putting
WIC-1B-S/T-V3 in mixed network module (part number NM-1FE2W-V2, NM-2FE2W-V2,
NM-2W or NM-1FE1R2W) or is supported on Cisco 1700 series Cisco 1800 Series
Cisco 1900-series, Cisco 2600XM Series, Cisco 2800 Series Cisco2900, Cisco 3700
series, Cisco 3800 and Cisco 3900 Series routers.

CISCO HWIC-4T offers a cost-effective ISDN router with the following benefits of integration: Less appliances and cables to deploy and manage, Remote and local configuration monitoring and troubleshooting through the IOS Software CLI and Simple Network Management Protocol, Flexibility and investment protection, Improved reliability with Physical space savings.

The ability to add BRI connectivity via a
CISCO HWIC-4T
allows administrators to
maximize valuable space, providing additional connectivity options through the
module itself, such as Fast Ethernet. These highly flexible user interface cards
allow a variety of important applications. Asynchronous ports provide highly
flexible connections that allow access to EIA-232 devices via TCP / IP. This
allows out-of-band management console, permitting the network operator to manage
the network equipment remotely, centrally located. Serial interfaces can be
connected by the WAN connection to remote sites. Supported by a range of up to 8
Mbps per port, 4-port high-speed serial WAN Interface Card WAN is suitable for
integration in low and medium density.

Serial and synchronous / asynchronous ports are ideal for transporting
legacy traffic over a TCP / IP. This enables network convergence, elimination of
costly leased lines separately for such traffic. Legacy protocols supported by
IOS include Systems Network Architecture and Synchronous Data Link Control,
binary protocol synchronous communications protocol (Bisync) and X.25 protocol.
