Compact Pst Tool To Compress An Oversized Pst File
MS-Outlook is a popular e-mail applications used for communication purpose worldwide. This mail application uses PST file for storing personal or professional data with different formats. PST file uses two formats like ANSI and Unicode format. These two formats vary with different size limits, for example ANSI has the limitation of 2 GB size limits. If the file exceeds the size more than 2GB, it leads to corruption of PST files and arises various problems, such as inaccessibility. To prevent corruption in the PST files, reduce the size of the PST file using a suitable Compact PST File software. Without PST Compaction it becomes difficult to send or receive mails any further.
Causes:
The root cause behind the problem is oversize of PST files. The various reasons for such a heavy PST are:
(1) The Size of PST file approaches 2 GB size limitation in MS-Outlook 2002 and earlier versions.
(2) MS-Outlook starts crashing due to heavy size of PST file.
(3) The PST file being used contains heavy attachments.
(4) Unwanted, bulk messages being not removed from the mailbox.
Solution:
When ...
... a PST file exceeds beyond the maximum size limit, it starts behaving in irregular manner. Sometimes, it does not open, and many times it gets corrupt. First delete all the unwanted, extra, or redundant emails from the mailbox. Check for all the mails with heavy attachments. Delete them all permanently, if you do not need them. But, be cautious during the process, do not delete any important mail.
But, this again is not a permanent solution. Your mailbox will receive mails everyday and again the same problem arises. Looking at the causes, it becomes clear that the PST files needs to be compacted so as to arrange the existing data and accommodate further data. So, the only solution of this problem is to Compact PST file using a third party PST Compact Tool. Many softwares are available in the market which are specifically designed and developed to reduce the size of PST file below 2GB. Stellar Phoenix Compact PST v2.0 is one such software.
