For A Faster Startup A Cleaner Computer Would Be Needed
If your computer startup has been quite slow for sometime then you should know that it may be a sign that your computer may be overloaded and would need cleaning and maintenance. With use, the computer can start collecting files in its system folders. With a little time and effort it is possible to slim the folders down and with it, the system of the computer would become automatically faster. You may have files that are not being used, are too bulky, are damaged or are not necessary for you any longer. By cleaning up your computer and by removing these files you can ensure that your computer would work just as it is supposed to work.
Remove Startup Programs that are Not Needed
The first thing that you must do in order to make the computer startup faster is to disable any programs that are not used by you and are unnecessary. You may have quite a lot of applications and programs running at startup that you don't need. For example, Adobe Reader is a program that you wouldn't need right when you startup. Instead, you can easily disable it from starting up automatically by clicking on start and then typing msconfig. ...
... When you are in the start up tab, uncheck the programs that you do not want to run immediately when your computer starts. When you disable more of them, your computer speed would automatically be boosted up.
Check and Defragment the Hard Drive
The next step for you is to check the hard drive. A new computer would have a fast startup since it would not yet be full of applications that you do not need and would not be damaged. Over time, the PC tends to become sluggish and would take have a lower performance level. By defragmenting the hard drive, you will be able to increase its speed. Check the disk drive location on your computer, click properties, then the tab for tools and then defragment now. It may take a few hours if your hard drive is large so you will have to be patient.
Clean Registry
Another very important point to remember is that you will need to clean the registry of the computer very often to ensure that its performance is up to date. This is one of the most common reasons for slower computers. There are several ways in which you can clean the registry at home on your own. However, the task can be quite daunting and time consuming. If you are a novice and are not quite experienced with handling registry entries or if you don't have much time to handle the task on your own then the best thing to do would be to get yourself a good quality computer software that will handle all critical operations like registry cleaning and defragmentation for you for making the startup faster.
