Sony Ericsson Xperia Play: Redefined Technology At More Than It's Cheapest

Sony Ericsson recently introduced the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc, which was an entertainment phone that was running on steroids. Now, the company does not seem to have gone off the boil and they are preparing to launch a new smart phone that is going to be even better with the way it handles the media. It is rumoured that Sony Ericsson is going to launch the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play within a few weeks, quite possibly during the Mobile World Congress that are set to take place at Barcelona in a few weeks. The phone will easily become the best mobile phone meant for video gaming when it is launched in that tech conference.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia Play has still not been confirmed by Sony Ericsson. It is only the rumours that are suggesting that it could be launched at the MWS. Even though the phone is not launched at the MWS, it would not be considered a huge disappointment because this will surely become the top of the tree model for mobile phone gamers in it is launched any time. ... expected to sport a 4 inch display that is slightly less than the 4.2 inch display seen in the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc, but no less brilliant in terms of quality. It is expected to run on the same Bravia technology that made its debut in the Xperia Arc. The screen is capable of a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels, which is not in the class leading, but also comes close to the Apple iPhone 4's retina display technology in terms of resolutions at least.

Even though the Apple iPhone 4's screen is better in terms of resolution numbers, it loses out to the Bravia technology of the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play, simply because it cannot compete with the levels of colour contrast offered by one of the biggest LCD television makers in the world, Sony. The phone will be having a 1 GHz processor that will be assisted by Adreno 205 GPU that can handle almost any kind of game you manage to throw at it. HD games and full HD movies will certainly not be a problem for this phone, which is also supplemented by the 512 MB of RAM. Storing HD games and HD movies will easily take up a lot of space and the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play comes with memory card support to take care of it.

There is a 3.5 mm jack for connecting this phone to any headset you wish so that you can enjoy your games and other stuff in peace. Even though the phone has class leading features in every respect, the five megapixel camera at the back thus not seem to be justifying the quality of entertainment that this phone can deliver. The disappointment is slightly offset by the 720 p video recording facility that this phone can deliver. Android 2.3 is expected to come as standard with the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play.
