The Sony Ericsson XPERIA X8 is Sony's attempt at cracking the whip of Android operating systems. It is a phone that released over six months ago and it shows how Sony Ericsson has come a long way since the launch of smart phones that ran on various operating systems. This new phone makes featherweight of the Android operating system mainly because of its impressive speed and great technologies, something that we have come to associate with the brand Sony Ericsson over the years. Even though the phone has been around for relatively a short space of time, there are already plenty of deals to be had on this phone that makes it extremely attractive.

The phone comes with the Android 1.6 operating system, which straightaway causes huge disappointment since this is a phone that could have been capable of achieving a lot more than just a 1.6 operating system. However, Sony Ericsson has recently provided the ability for its customers to upgrade to the latest 2.1 operating system, which softens the disappointment a little. It has to be not forgotten that the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X8 was one of the flagship models of the company ...
... for at least a few months before it was eventually replaced by even better phones. It is evident from the 3.2 megapixel camera that is fantastic in terms of quality, even though it is not like that in terms of megapixel count.

You will be getting only the camera and there are no specific features that will help in getting high quality images. It has to be entirely dependent on the knowledge of the user to get the best out of this camera. The presence of video recording feature also adds to the appeal. There is 128 MB of internal memory that can be used for storing media files. It is a well-known fact that this memory is totally not sufficient for storing large amounts of media files and in that case you might have to go for additional memory cards. Sony Ericsson has provided the phone with a 2 GB memory card exclusively for this purpose, while you can also use up to 16 GB worth of memory cards. Even if you decide to go for the 2 GB memory card alone, you can entertain yourself using plenty of other options in the phone. The FM radio that comes with stereo RDS is one such example and there are plenty more.

Even though the phone runs on only the 1200 mAh battery, it is fantastic when it comes to offering excellent talk time. It will last for a good day or two after a full charge and are very smart phones can claim to be offering such facilities. The phone is currently available for as low as £ 100 without contract from Three network. T-Mobile is the cheapest network provider to be offering the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X8 on a contract. Their contract starts at just £9 a month, which also includes unlimited text messages.
