Practice: Selecting Authentication Methods For Iis

In this practice, you will select authentication methods for free 70-291 test questions based on business needs. Much of the design work for authentication for IIS consists of analyzing the business needs and selecting the most secure authentication choice or choices that will fulfill these needs. In Table 13-6, review the scenarios and then indicate the authentication method or methods that you would choose for each scenario. In the third column, briefly explain why you chose the method or methods that you did. If you are unable to answer a question, review the lesson materials and try the question again. Assume that the proper Web and NTFS permissions have been set on the site.

Before taking the exam, review these key points and terms. You need to know this information.

Application pools can be used to set up process isolation and to provide security for multiple Web sites installed on the same server.
FTP user isolation mode provides the ability to create multiple virtual FTP roots. Authorized users of FTP sites cannot use directory traversal to access other FTP sites on the same server.
Application pool identity A user account that is the process identity for the worker processes that service an application pool.
Application pools A group of Web sites and applications that can use the same worker process. Application pools are isolated from interactivity.
FTP user isolation A method in which a specific folder is assigned as the FTP site location and is accessible only by using a specific user account and password. Each FTP site appears free Microsoft question papers to the user as if it is the FTP root.
