MIT School of Government Pune is all set to organize the first Parliament of Indian Student Council Leaders which is called Bharatiya Chhatra Sansad from Jan 12 to Jan 14 of 2011 at MIT Campus in Pune. In the three days event, participants will be given chance to interact with prominent personalities from Politics, Spirituality, Environment, Media, Social movement, Entertainment and Sports World and speak up their mind and thoughts. MIT would be bringing together General Secretaries and Join Secretaries of about 5000 colleges from various universities of Maharashtra. They are also inviting representatives from thousands of colleges and Universities pan India. As expected about 10000 to 12000 members of student council are supposed to participate in the Bharatiya Chatra Sansad at MIT Pune Campus.

The motive behind the First Ever Students Parliament is to dedicate the student leaders on a common platform to speak up their thoughts & opinions. Their thoughts & ideas will help to propagate the plan for Nation building cause. Further, it also aims to act as a channel assisting the national & international bodies ...
... together in the preparing political reforms related to the development of today's youth. Vision is to transform the present's youth into ambassadors of change to take on the current challenges and hold worthy offices in the democratic institutions of India. This change will bring revolution in the Indian Political System. It will be taken as the key aspect to make our nation a vibrant. One of the major objectives would facilitate the Young Indian leaders to exchanges their thoughts & ideas over different segments of Indian economics. Empowering & Encouragements upcoming youths would be another objective in terms of participation & contributing their ideas & thoughts on nationwide & regional issues. Key speakers are Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, Hon. HRD Minister Shri.Kapil Sibal, Spiritual Leader Sri Ravi Shankar, LK Advani & many other prominent leaders & dignitaries.

Some Proposed Outcomes that are worth a mention from the India's First Youth Parliament

The resolutions made by the participants will be compiled as the ‘Declaration of the Student Parliament and shall be forwarded to the Honourable Prime Minister of India, the UNESCO headquarters in Paris, the Ministry of Youth Affairs, to the Government of India and the Government of Maharashtra.

Proper archives of all the speeches made at the student parliament will be maintained so that it can be used for propagation.

The student participants will become the Alumni of this Student Leadership Parliament on vision to bring them closer.

‘Bharatiya Chhatra Sansad' will be a breeding ground for the young, enthusiastic and bright minds committed to lead the society, to effect political changes and to strengthen the democracy. The resolutions passed during all the sessions of the Parliament will be sent to various policy making bodies of the government.
