Revelations,A Study.Section 7.
Chapter 8:1 thru 10:7 The Seventh Seal opened and the seven trumpets start sounding. Revelations is not written in sequence. We have Seven Seals, Seven Trumpets and Seven Viles of the wrath of God. If we put a seal beside a trumpet and add the Vile we have the complete sequence of events. The reason it was written in this manner was to get Gods Children to compare scripture with scripture. The Seventh Seal if you notced when opened, ushers in a time of silence. This is to introduce the first trumpet. Rev 8:2 And I saw the seven angels which stood before God; and to them were given seven trumpets. To show you a sequence of events lets just take the first of all three and put them together. The First Seal; Rev 6:2 And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.
The First Trumpet; Rev 8:7 The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.
The First ...
... Vile; Rev 16:2 And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast, and upon them which worshipped his image.
The seal is opened the trumpet is sounded and the vile is poured out. When looking at all seven in sequence we see the total picture of what is happening. These next 2 verses show that the prayers of the saints are answered quickly. Rev 8:4 And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel's hand.
Rev 8:5 And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast it into the earth: and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake.[Ref; Rev 6:10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?] This is literial.Rev 8:7 The first Trumpet, hail, fire & blood. Result; the third part of trees & green grass burnt up. This is literial.Rev 8:8 The second Trumpet, The third part of the sea became blood;[ Look closely, it doesnt say became as blood] the third part of the ships were destroyed. the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died. This is literial.Rev 8:10 The third Trumpet, and there fell a {great star} [spirit] from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters; The word,Wormwood, means bitter sorrow. [Jer_9:15,Lam_3:15; Lam_3:19; Deu_29:18; Pro_5:4; Amo_5:7, rendered "hemlock"; Greek apsinthos;
Rev 8:11 And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.
This is literial. Rev 8:12 The fourth Trumpet, The third part of the sun, moon, and stars; were darkened, and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise. Moveing man into the reality that all things come to an end. Business as usual is over. Verse Rev 8:13 is a warning to earth. This is literial. Rev 9:1 The fifth Trumpet, and I saw a {star}[Angel] fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the {bottomless pit.} [Hell opened] Verses 9:2 thru 9:10. The creatures from the Bottonless pit are deamons of Satan. They are given a time limit of Five months, to create as much pain and suffering on mankind as they can, but their power is limited by God so that they cannot, hurt the grass, green things, trees, kill, or hurt anyone with the seal of God upon their foreheads.
Rev 9:11 The king, Abaddon, Apollyon. The angel of the bottomless pit. Satan.Abaddon: destroyer, John 8:44. The Hebrew in Job_31:12 and Pro_27:20, "destruction," or the place of destruction, sheol (Hebrew); Hades (Greek). The rabbis use Abaddon, from Psa_88:12 ("Shall Thy lovingkindness be declared in destruction?") (abaddon) as the second of the seven names for the region of the dead. In Rev_9:11 personified as the destroyer, Greek, apolluon, "the angel of the bottomless pit," Satan is meant; for he is described in Rev_9:1 as "a star fallen from heaven unto earth, to whom was given the key of the bottomless pit"; and Rev_12:8-9,12: "Woe to the inhabiters of the earth, for the devil is come down." "He walketh about as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour"
The serpent-like stinging tails correspond to Mohammedanism.The giving of both the Hebrew and the Greek name implies that he is the destroyer of both Hebrew and Gentiles alike.

This is literial. The sixth Trumpet, Many who do not understand symbolism use the word Horses to try to make fun of Revelations. The word horse is symbolic of a means of transportation. The four angels[evil beings] in the great river Euphrates. These beings go to war against mankind for 396 days + 1 hour.
Rev 9:16 thru 9:19 describe the number of deamonic soldiers under their controll and the apperance and the number of man killed.[Outward aspect. phenomenon. A superficial aspect; a semblance.Outward indications]
Rev 9:16 And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them.
Modern warfare is descriptive of the means of destruction in these verses.
Rev 9:18 By these three was the third part of men killed, by the fire, and by the smoke, and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths.
Rev 9:19 For their power is in their mouth, and in their tails: for their tails were like unto serpents, and had heads, and with them they do hurt.
Rev 9:20 and 21, show the hardness of mans heart in this period of time. And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, idols of gold, silver, brass, stone, wood. False Idols. A man can make and Idol out of anything from grass to money.
Rev 9:21 Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts. The Seventh Trumpet will be covered in chapter 11. end of section 7.
