1. Drink sufficient water about 7-8 glasses per day to reduce constipation.
2. Regular intake of high fiber diet including green, leafy vegetables and fruits helps in smooth bowel movements reducing the problem to a great extent.
3. Avoid exerting force while defecating. This will weaken the veins causing bleeding and inflammation.
4. Never suppress the urge for defecation and practice regular toilet habits.
5. Application of a mixture of the juice of white radish and honey on the affected areas provides some relief from piles. The radish juice can be applied to the affected area by mixing it with little milk.
6. Figs are very effective in treating piles. Soak few figs in water and keep it overnight. Take these figs along with the water daily two times a day.
7. Taking a mixture of mashed banana in a cup of milk regularly 3-4 times a day is an effective way to reduce the painful condition of piles.
8. Application of cold compress on the affected areas at night before sleeping helps in reducing the pain to a great extent.
9. Extract of witch hazel herb is very useful in treating hemorrhoids. To get best results, apply the cooled extract on the affected areas with the help of a sterile cotton pad.
