Bathing through dry shampooing should be done only when necessary, regularly checking the ears for any grass seeds or untoward manifestations, and excess wax should be cleaned regularly. Brushing the hair from the feet down, through the toes, and trimming it level with the bottom of the feet should be done. Trimming should be done in the hair around the pads, never between the toes. Owners should brush out tangles and burrs after they play outdoors.

The English Cocker Spaniel is a hardy breed, but may be prone to a variety of hereditary disorders including hip dysplasia, slipping stifles, epilepsy, and eye problems.

Training

The English Cocker Spaniels are highly intelligent working breed that are known to be loyal and obedient.
