Five Ways To Lose Weight
Christmas time. A common period, in fact probably the most common period ever (shortly followed by the summer holidays), in which the population put on weight.
It's inevitable; we're all off school and work, it is cold outside and there are many parties going on during this time, so of course we have nothing to do but eat and hence put on weight. Christmas just would not be the same without the amount of food we all intake, so we just have to suffer the consequences and attempt to lose all the extra pounds once the festive season is over. So here, to help you this year, is the ultimate guide to losing weight the simple and effective way. Hope it helps!
Exercise:
This word, at first thought, may bring nothing but an image of boredom, tiresome and pain, but if you take dieting seriously and spend time planning and suiting your diet specifically to you and your needs then exercising should be one major thing that is tailored to your desires. If you have bad experiences of this because you last made yourself run around the park for hours after work every night, despite the killing stitches you gained, then ...
... think of changing the type of exercise you involve yourself with. Other than the obvious running technique you could join a team of any kind of sport, join a fitness class, the gym or take up some kind of dance. If you allow yourself to choose what type of exercise you like and will do then you won't dread it and will in time lose all that much hated weight of yours!
Drink plenty of water:
The scientific theory simplified is basically that the more liquid you consume (water only, as this is calorie-free and helps the body's functions generally) the more full you feel, and hence you eat less. As well as this, your body will be in as healthy a state as it could be, with your body being generally hydrated and your kidneys flushed of waste. The more hydrated you are, the more effective your metabolism becomes and so you will have the potential to lose weight more quickly. Drink a glass of water 10 minutes before each meal so you feel fuller whilst eating and then continue to drink water throughout the day, approximately 10 glasses in total a day.
Eat more times a day, with much smaller portions each time:
It has been hypothesised that if you eat more often throughout the day, you will never feel the urge to snack on all those calorie filled biscuits and crisps! It is suggested that you eat five meals a day; the main three being breakfast, lunch and dinner and then another two at about 11 o clock in the morning and then four or five in the afternoon. And because you are eating more meals in the day, you must cut down each meal. But don't worry; you won't feel this reduction because you will effectively be eating a meal every few hours.
Do not eat after 8pm:
One common mistake that people make, whether it is because you have work until late or just like eating later on in the evening, is eating after 8pm. The best time to actually eat your dinner is around half past six, with allowance of up to an hour to consume it in. Eating anything any later than 8 o clock is bad when wanting to lose or maintain your weight because of your metabolism patterns: after this time metabolism in everyone slows right down and so all the food eaten then automatically stores in your body, causing you to put on much more weight than if you were to eat before 8:00 pm.
Look at what you are actually eating:
The vital mistake that many make is that they don't actually, truly know what they are eating. Of cause you know that you're eating a sandwich or pasta or pizza, but you don't know the exact ingredients within these. This is why it is best that you cook your own meals from scratch, because you then know exactly what is going into what you are due to eat. And what we do recommend is that if you don't have the time to do this, then read the ingredients checking the calorie, salt and fat intakes and obviously opt for the lowest you can find in these!
So here they are; the top five ways to lose weight. Now you have this I do hope you don't go worrying over Christmas that you can't dig into that pudding or roast dinner! Indulge in what you like and reserve yourself on other things and this will really help balance your diet out while using these five techniques, because it is the worst thing to just punish yourself and not indulge in anything...especially over a festive period like this!
