Daily encounters with problems, trials and tribulations have been, and always will be the norm for those that are seeking to live the Christian life. Resistance from Satan and His government, powers, principalities in high places and demonic activity throughout the world, will try to wear us down mentally, physically, emotionally and even spiritually. Whether it be a struggling marriage, financial difficulties, wayward children, drug or alcohol addiction, pornography addiction, anger, jealousy, fear, or so on and so forth, these all become daily battles in our life that we must overcome in order to proceed to greater heights in the kingdom of God. Our intimacy and communication with God is temporarily affected by these situations.

Apostle Paul gave an excellent testimony to the church at Corinth about his bout with the enemy:

2 Corinthians 12:7-10
7And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.
8For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, ...
... that it might depart from me.
9And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
10Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

In Paul's moment of encountering opposition from Satan, the first thing that he did was seek the Lord's counsel, and he immediately received a response. The Lord's response was that His grace was sufficient for Paul, and that the Lord's strength is perfect for any weakness. But what about Paul's thorn in his flesh? How does the Lord's strength help Paul?

Paul continues and answers this question following the word of the Lord: Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

We must allow the unquenchable, powerful Spirit of the Lord to rest on us and abide within us so that He can do the work that He wants to do. We don't have to fight our battles and wage warfare with the enemy because the Spirit of the Lord wants to do that within us and for us. It is in our places of weakness that the Holy Spirit builds us up, fortifies us, fights for us, and conquers for us. We can do all things through Christ Jesus!

Psalm 24:7-9
7Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.
8Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.
9Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.

Yes, our Lord is strong and mighty, and He is mighty in battle. To battle is what the Lord wants to do, and He wants to go to battle for us. The Holy Spirit is designed by the Father and sent on assignment to do battle on our behalf. Through the Holy Spirit, we are able to wage warfare on our enemies in the spirit realm, enemies that we don't see, but the Holy Spirit within us is able to discern them and battle them for us.

Ephesians 6:10
10Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

Here Paul encourages the Ephesians to continue to be strong in the Lord, and that His might is powerful. Might is defined as the power, authority, or resources of an individual or group. It is the might of Father God, Jesus Christ, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (each as individuals and together as a group - Trinity) that enables us to excel and triumph in battle.

How do we turn on the might of God?

We are able to turn on the might of God by obtaining knowledge of the Word of God.

Daniel 11:32
32And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.

Those that are able to hear the voice of the Lord and know the Lord shall be made strong in times of trouble, trials and tribulations. Then will the people that are able to hear God's voice be able to do exploits, or heroic acts, for the average individual does not possess the might, power or knowledge to carry them out.

Acts 22:6-9
6And it came to pass, that, as I made my journey, and was come nigh unto Damascus about noon, suddenly there shone from heaven a great light round about me.
7And I fell unto the ground, and heard a voice saying unto me, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?
8And I answered, Who art thou, Lord? And he said unto me, I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom thou persecutest.
9And they that were with me saw indeed the light, and were afraid; but they heard not the voice of him that spake to me.

It was this experience on the road to Damascus that made Saul into the Apostle Paul that we know of. It was Saul's hearing the voice of the Lord that triggered the change of his mindset and his lifestyle. Saul went from a persecutor of Jesus and all follower of Jesus, to Paul, the carrier of the gospel of Jesus Christ to the nations. Isn't it amazing how the voice of the Lord, which is nothing more than the Word of the Lord, can change us instantaneously forever! Oh, how we should long for the Word of God each and every idle minute that we are on this earth! The Word of God yields revelation, which also yields light, for revelation and light are synonymous. We continue to live in total darkness until we become consumed with God's word, His revelation, and inevitably, His light! Saul was consumed with revelation and light when he had his face to face confrontation with the Lord. A Damascus road experience is what we should all long for!

Matthew 16:13-19
13When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?
14And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.
15He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
16And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
17And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
18And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
19And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

It is the revelation knowledge of who Jesus Christ is that the church must be built on. The temple of God that rests on the inside of us must also be built on this same rock, the revelation of the fullness of Jesus Christ - Jesus, the lover, the peacemaker the Lamb of God, but also the mighty warrior, Lord of hosts (armies), the Lion of Judah. And as we continue to look at verse 18, we read and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. The revelation of who Jesus Christ is will resist the plots of the enemy and shatter Satan's ambitions of capturing our mind. The light of God shines upon all darkness and evil plans, and the light then exposes them. This is why Satan doesn't want us to read the Word of God, this is why He has in times past, and even now, attempted to silence the voice of the prophets of God. The Word of the Lord is what Satan despises because He knows that the Word is truth, knowledge, wisdom and a light for our path - spiritual food for the saints and those that are seeking God.

With a foundation that is built on the revelation of Jesus Christ and His Word, the keys of the kingdom of heaven are handed to us simultaneously. These keys allow us to triumph over the enemy because they grant us the power to bind and loose anything in the earth and the heaven. The keys bring deliverance to the captives, breakthrough for the spiritually, mentally and financially oppressed, and the keys allow the kingdom of God to come, and for the kingdom of God to be done.

Use the keys to triumph in all of your circumstances. No matter what the situation, seek God's voice, read God's word, receive revelation, receive life, receive a foundation, and then receive the keys of the kingdom of heaven to prevail against any plots and strategies of the enemy.

You were made to conquer, you were made to win, you were made to have authority, in Jesus name!
