A great mentally and financially awarding job is working within the events industry. There are many types of events but the most wanted jobs are found in the entertainment industry. The xfactor is the biggest show on British television at the moment and you can imagine the fulfilment you would feel if you're a part of it. Maybe showbiz isn't your cup of tea but weddings and corporate events are, well the events industry covers a whole spectrum of fields. Maybe sports hits the spot. Imagine working at London Olympics in 2012.

You will need to be able to withstand the pressure of working in a fast passed environment where you will have to make on the spot decisions. Exception planning and organisation skills are a necessity. Also needed are very good communication skills as you will have to work closely with other people.

Like any field of employment if you have experience and references from past employers then you will be in a great position when it comes to apply for work. The area is quite competitive so good references and experience will play a major part in bagging the top jobs. You will ...
... find it hard working in this industry without any experience, like any job the hardest thing is getting your foot in the door. However if you're really keen on making the event industry your choice of career you should become a volunteer and before long you will have experience and testimonials which are vital for landing the more financially rewarding jobs. Volunteering in live events is how everyone gets into the industry. There are actual paid job roles for managing volunteers, not pad pay either, 30K seems to be the average.

Those with years of event experience will already be signed up to specialist recruitment agencies that have the skills necessary for putting them in the correct role. It takes very little time to create a profile and upload your CV to the recruitment agencies. You can sit back and wait for them to call you. Those that are not comfortable using the internet could out the industry magazines which list current jobs, or approach event organisation agencies.
