How To Have A Star-studded Holiday
Having a holiday is an enjoyable experience as it is, but if you can go out ‘star spotting' as well, then it can add an extra bit of fun to your time away!
Of course, certain areas of England will have a much larger ‘celeb percentage' than others. After all, how many supermodels or movie stars will you come across in Bognor Regis; evening in its most ‘happening' clubs? You are obviously going to see a lot of film or television personalities in or around London simply because it is home to so many different television channels and recording studios. However, our capital city certainly isn't the only place that will to attract society's ‘finest'.
Take Glastonbury for example. Not only is this small town world famous for its yearly festival, but it is also home to a surprising number of big names in the entertainment business. Guy Ritchie can often be seen doing his shopping at the local stores and don't be surprised if you run into Nicholas Cage either; the star of ‘Captain Corelli's Mandolin' owns a property only a short distance away from the town. And if you are to sit in one ...
... of the cafes in Glastonbury whilst the festival is on, then who knows which singers may pop in for a brew?
Another area which seems to be a bit of a ‘celebrity magnet' is Norfolk. This beautiful part of the country attracts thousands of visitors every year and it is also home to a number of famous faces. Many actors, actresses and musicians have owned Norfolk cottages over the years; Rick Wakeman's home is in the South of Norfolk, David Gray kept in a property in Stiffkey and James Blunt's family were once the owners of the Cley lighthouse!
Who knows, you may even get the opportunity to rub shoulders with royalty if you are staying in this part of the country! Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles make regular trips to Sandringham House so they are often seen out and about in Norfolk. There have also been ‘sightings' of many actors and actresses over the years including the likes of; Keira Knightley, John Hurt, Gwyneth Paltrow, Roger Lloyd Pack and Maggie Smith (to name but a few!).
So, there is some food for thought if you are looking for a self catering holiday with a difference. You will obviously not want to spend the whole of your time away watching out for your favourite movies stars, but it can certainly add a very interesting element to your trip! Just imagine how strange it will be if Clint Eastwood, Lily Savage and Margaret Thatcher wander in for a fish and chip supper whilst you are having your meal! Hmmm, best pack some Rennies then.
