Titanium is a shiny gray colored metal that is used in many applications since it has diverse beneficial properties. It is often used in many light weight alloys as it is very strong. Titanium's valuable characteristic is that it is neutral to the body and does not cause irritation to the skin nor change in color. With this reason, titanium rings are well-liked as wedding bands.

To symbolize marriage, people wear metallic rings as wedding bands. It is an old European custom that is still practiced until today. In some countries, people wear the wedding band on the left hand's ring finger, while in other countries; they wear wedding band on the right hand's ring finger. Customarily, gold wedding bands are usually worn but today wedding bands of other metals such as titanium, platinum, palladium are now used. Though well-admired, there are pros and cons of titanium wedding bands.

Titanium Wedding Bands - The Pros

Corrosion Resistance
Because titanium is tough yet light in weight, it does not snip under pressure, therefore it is just suitable for daily wear. Also, titanium wedding bands are resistant ...
... to corrosion from any weather, sun, pollution or other damage-causing elements. They do not get scratched easily nor change in shape.

Safety
Titanium wedding bands are safe to use because it does not cause any allergic reactions to the skin. They do not get discolored as they keep their glossy appearance for a long time.

Titanium Wedding Bands - The Cons

Irresizable
The major drawback of a titanium wedding band is that it cannot be soldered or resized. Therefore, when you think of buying a titanium ring, it is important to take proper measurements or have it made custom fit.

Dull Luster
Titanium cannot take the place of gold or platinum jewelry since it is less shiny and cannot match to the standards of these metals. Although shiny in appearance, titanium's luster looks dull compared to the other favored metals used in making jewelries.
