Effective Home Remedies For Throat Infection That Work
Throat infection is the common type of viral infection that can affect everybody irrespective of age and gender. Everybody in some stage of life is affected by this disease. Children are the worst sufferers of this disease as they are vulnerable to such viral infections. Some suffer from chronic throat infection due to allergies or poor immunity system of the body. It is caused due to many reasons, and can be cured easily unless it develops serious secondary infections. Frequent throat infections may cause damage to the voice box.

The commonly observed symptoms include
1. Inflammation of the throat followed by pain.
2. Discomfort in swallowing food.
3. Fever accompanies with secondary infections.
4. Swelling of the lymph glands.

1. Common cold and flu
2. Seasonal changes
3. Weakened body immunity system.
4. Allergies
5. Tonsillitis
6. Diphtheria
7. Mumps.

1. Gargling is undoubtedly the best treatment for any throat infection. Add a teaspoonful of salt in a glass of warm water (not too hot) and gargle 3-4 times a day. This will instantly reduce the throat pain.
2. Add two teaspoonful of lime juice and one teaspoonful of honey in a glass full of hot water. Drink this mixture 2 times a day to get relief from throat pain.
3. Juices of Citrus fruits like lemon, oranges are highly beneficial in reducing infections in the throat.
4. Tea prepared from Basil and ginger gives a soothing effect on the throat and reduces the irritation.
5. Tea from Marshmallow and Sage are very effective in reducing infection in the throat to a great extent.
6. Boil one teaspoon of Cinnamon and a pinch of pepper powder in a glass of water and add a teaspoonful of honey. Drinking this mixture provides fast relief from throat infection.
7. Taking hot Epsom salt baths also provides some relief from throat pain.
8. Add few grams of Fenugreek seeds in a glass of lukewarm water. Leave it for sometime. Then strain the water and use it for gargling.
9. Use of apple cider vinegar for treating throat infections is a very common practice. In a mixture of one teaspoonful each of honey and apple cider vinegar, add a pinch of cayenne pepper powder and juice of one fourth lemon. Add this whole mixture in a cup of hot water. Take this as a medicine four times daily.
