Many business owners want to stop spending money on the yellow pages and move their marketing outlay to the web. Studies suggest that people are now choosing web searches over the yellow pages more frequently to look for products and services. This shows that local search marketing offers a great opportunity for small businesses to reach out to customers on the web. And they have the best opportunity to win in the end.
However, to make use of the web, these small business owners must have knowledge of different local search products and marketing opportunities offered by each of the main search engines. There are also companies which provide a wide array of local search marketing services to help businesses get more local customers from the internet.
Local search refers to the keywords someone types into one of the search engines like Google, Yahoo, Bing etc for some specific service. For example, if you type ‘Dentist in Charleston ,' the search engine would break down this phrase and open up pages of information about the dentists available in Charleston .

You could open up an account and describe your business, explain the uniqueness of your business, and create an interest in the mind of the customer, just enough to tantalize and lure him/her into giving you a call.
