![Profile Picture](https://www.123articleonline.com/images/avatar-default.jpg)
There are so many variants of roller conveyors and their uses are specific to their type. A lot of industries in the market today are using these conveyors to hasten the process of making a product. Depending on the model of the conveyor, it can also be relied on to speed up the distribution of products from one center to another.
And now, let us look into the different types of conveyors. One type is called the gravity conveyor and is mostly used to move things from one area to another. It is quite flexible in a way that you can adjust the height and you can increase or decrease the angle to move things up or down. So what makes them move? This is basically run by a roller wheel or a skate wheel. What makes this great is that it can be used with other conveyors.
Gravity conveyors also have subtypes. The gravity roller conveyor is mostly used when moving products such as cartons, tin cans, paper boxes, or anything that has a flat and smooth surface. The size depends on the packages to be moved, but most industries have a standard of 10 feet with 12 inches width.
The skatewheel ...
... conveyors, on the other hand, are more convenient to use than the roller version. It is light, so it can easily be transferred from one area to another. If you are wondering what makes it so light, it is because it is made out of aluminium. The skatewheel can usually be seen in shipping companies and manufacturing companies that involve packaging.
When it comes to large manufacturing companies, the usually use a combination of conveyors. They need a lot of types of conveyors for the different needs of the company. One of these is the accumulation conveyor. What makes this unique is that it uses pressurized air to move. It has sensor rollers that detect when the product should be moved to the next area. While it waits, it stops the product and holds it in place until the next signal. This is very useful in companies that need to move products into many workstations. You might be wondering why it has to wait for a signal. The explanation is quite simple--it avoids overloading.
The accumulation conveyor also has a subtype, just like the other types of conveyors. It is called the zero pressure conveyors. It works in the same process except that it avoids collision by leaving spaces between packages. There is also another subtype that works in an opposite manner--the minimum pressure conveyor. It positions each package close to each other.
There are lots of other conveyor types out there being used by different companies. Knowing what conveyor suits your business best is the key to a more efficient workload. It definitely saves time and effort since it moves products on its own. Roller conveyors and their uses have never been these helpful in making industries more efficient and energy-saving.
