Toothache Causes And Natural Remedies For Odontalgia, Gingivitis
Toothache or tooth pain is caused when the nerve root of a tooth is irritated. Dental (tooth) infection, decay, injury, or loss of a tooth is the most common causes of dental pain. Pain may also occur after an extraction (tooth is pulled out).
Pain sometimes originates from other areas and radiates to the jaw, thus appearing to be tooth pain. The most common areas include the jaw joint, ear pain, and even occasional heart problems.

Toothache occurs from inflammation of the central portion of the tooth called pulp. The pulp contains nerve endings that are very sensitive to pain. Asafoetida
The use of asafoetida has been found useful in curing toothache. It should be pestled in lemon Juice and slightly heated. A cotton swab should be soaked in this lotion and placed in the cavity of the tooth. It will relieve pain quickly.
Asafoetida has been widely used in traditional medicine since ancient times, particularly in the Indian sub-continent. You can fry some asafetida lightly in clarified butter to prepare it as a solution.
Lime
Lime, as a rich source of vitamin C, is useful in maintaining the health of the teeth and other bones of the body. It prevents decay and loosening of the teeth, dental caries, toothache, and bleeding of the gums.
Eating a raw lime, along with the peel, can offer some much needed toothache relief. The success of olive for toothaches can in all probability be best explain by its rich work of vitamin C and the lower levels of acidity as compared to lemons.
Bay Berry
A paste of the bark of bay berry should be made with vinegar. This paste, applied on the affected tooth, will relieve the toothache. It can also be applied beneficially on the gums for strengthening them.
