An escape to Italy must be well planned. It is a nation steeped in culture and history and there is much to see and savor here. Florence, which is the Tuscany in Italy is a must explore location and has much in art and architecture that will capture the heart and mind of the traveler. It has absolutely fascinating museums for the art lover and for the cultural explorer to lose themselves at. Some world famous works such as David by Michelangelo Buonarotti and Birth of Venus by Sandro Boticelli are among the best from the Renaissance period. Tourists can take their time as they walk past the corridors of the famous museums in Florence that house many delights and will delight every traveler.
One of the important museums every traveler should stop by at is the Galleria dell’Accademia. Its most renowned piece de resistance is of course the masterpiece by Michelangelo. It has been seen time and again on posters, t shirts and post cards all over the world but seeing it in person is an experience indeed. There is also an equally fascinating piece by Michelangelo called the Nonfiniti which will also be equally ...
... mesmerizing to see in real rather than on pictures and reproductions. There is so much energy in these marble blocks which are carved with careful attention to detail and seem to be struggling to break free. There will be a lot of crowd at the Accademia but each is awed by the beauty around them to disturb the other. There are also the Stradivarius Violins which can be seen up close here.
Another equally popular museum is the Galleria degli Uffizi. One of the most famous and oldest art museums in the West, it is housed in the Palazzo in Florence. The museum has a huge and stunning collection and its space is being expanded to allow the public to view so many of its treasures which have been in storage due to lack of space. There are numerous classical and neoclassical sculptures and frescoes that will completely enthrall the visitors. With numerous antiquities here, people from all over the world visit and return having seen many unique and beautiful pieces. There are 45 large rooms which hold paintings and art work by famous Renaissance painters like Da Vinci, Botticelli, Verrocchio, Caravaggio and more. It is advisable to reserve tickets for a visit to this museum in advance as getting in here during peak season can be difficult.
