Why should anyone be concerned with the healthy way to lose weight?

One never notices the weight slowly increasing until it comes to the day when you try on your regular size dress andbam, it just will not fit.

Many people lead a modern, sedentary lifestyle, generally sitting at work, sitting in the car or subway on the way to and from work, and sitting in the evening watching the TV before going to bed and lying down.

Obesity and the associated health issues is a phenomenon of the modern western world, caused by a combination of eating too much junk food, high carbohydrate intake and a general lack of exercise.

All of this can be reversed, and positive results resulting in a slimmer and healthier you can be easily achieved.

First of all, increasing the exercise one takes, even in a small way will help weight loss and improve overall general health and fitness. Walk the kids to school whenever possible, walk to the shops or use a bicycle. Not only is walking and cycling great fun, it is imperceptibly but positively helping the body better metabolize the food intake, and burn off those handles that hang over and out.

Second, regulate your food intake, eat little and often and NEVER skip breakfast. Eat more fruit, vegetables, nuts and grains, and reduce the sugar intake. Drink more water, about 5 pints a day during the normal life style, more if exercising. Drinking more water makes the body ‘feel' as if it is full, and reduces hunger pangs.

Third, encourage everyone in the family to eat healthier and take more exercise. This is not just a positive thing for them, but any new regime or lifestyle change is easier with a team effort, to encourage and help each other through the early stages of what should be a positive, long term lifestyle change.
