Among man's basic needs is having shelter. It is difficult to deny the fact that many do not have access to this basic need. Although some are not lucky enough to have their own home, it's nice to think that most people have houses to stay in.

In New York, also known as the Empire State, many grand and luxurious structures cover the place. Big hotels, flashy casinos, beautiful residences, and high-end shops invade the streets of the state. People living in New York are widely believed to be fortunate individuals, as not everybody can live in such a prestigious state.

New York's remarkable history goes way back to 1524 when an Italian navigator named Giovanni de Verrazano discovered the bay of New York. Although the state had been discovered for a long time, it was only in 1609 when Henry Hudson, an Englishman hired by the Dutch, reached the bay's shores. In the 17th century, New Amsterdam (what is now known as New York City) was founded by the Dutch Republic as a trading colony.
