Today, millions of Americans are suffering from migraine headaches, and it is listed as one of the most commonly cited reasons for missing work. Migraines are impacting the lives of many in a number of ways, and one of the most frustrating things around this condition is difficulty in diagnosis. In a day and age where doctors are afraid to prescribe pain medication without suffering consequences, many physicians are being extra cautious when it comes to the migraine diagnosis and treatment.
What makes matters worse is that every person that suffers from migraines will suffer differently from the next, so this makes diagnosis very difficult. If you suffer from migraine headaches, or chronic headache pain, you don't want to wait any longer. Read here to find out if your constant pain is the cause of migraines, and how effectively they can be treated once diagnosed.
The brain is a complex organ, and although we do know a lot about it, we know very little when it comes to migraines or chronic headaches. This fact is another factor that makes doctors leery about diagnosing migraines if in fact that isn't the problem. ...
... If you are experiencing chronic headaches and think they may be migraine, you may also want to ask your doctor to consider the possibility of sinus infection, allergies, sinus headache, or cluster headaches. If those conditions have been ruled out, and/or you have the primary symptoms of migraine, then it is very likely you are a migraine sufferer and will respond well to some migraine or pain medication.
In order for your chronic headaches to be considered migraine, your doctor will ask you a series of questions surrounding the specific nature of what is known as a migraine attack. The more you know about events and experiences surrounding the beginning or onset of your headache, the easier your headaches will be to diagnose. Generally speaking a migraine attack is one that lasts anywhere from four to seventy-two hours (sometimes longer), is characterized on one side or section of the head, throbs or pulses, is considered moderate to severe in terms of pain, is accompanied by vomiting and nausea, and may or may not be accompanied by sensitivity to light and sound.
Frequently doctors will want to see at least two of these above symptoms in order to adequately diagnose you with migraine headaches. Your doctor will be more willing to confirm this diagnosis if these symptoms seem to happen on a regular basis for you. Sometimes this means once a month, and some more chronic sufferers will experience migraine attacks at least once a week.
It may seem discouraging to you that a lot is involved in a migraine diagnosis, but it is actually much more simple than you may think. Configuring a migraine diagnosis is as easy as a few questions from your doctor when you visit to discuss your headaches. It can seem very frustrating to many to have treatment delayed, but it is important to diagnose your headaches properly in order to get the best treatment. When it comes to migraines, thankfully there is a wide range of headache medicine available ranging from migraine prescriptions to anti-inflammatory medication such as Tramadol. If your migraines are not severely debilitating, you may find that medication like Tramadol will be much more tolerated for your headaches, and still allow you to continue a successful quality of life. Talk to your doctor about how to buy Tramadol, or what migraine medication would be best for you following a migraine diagnosis.
