Nothing is permanent except change. This principle is even applicable to website design. The process of bringing amendments to website design is called website redesigning. Why is redesigning important?

The market scenario is constantly changing because of technological advancement and taut competition. The unique website layout of the past may have become common now and lost its charm. If the buyer does not find anything special in the website he/she may hesitate to buy what is offered by the website. Redesigning is important for keeping the visitor adhered to the website. With the advent of competition the buyer has the luxury of becoming selective and this has led to change in buyer behavior. If the website does not consider this change the buyer may think adversely and the sale may be put off. Constant upgrading and updating of the website is required to feature in the top list of the search engines too.

Immediate redesigning can prove detrimental for the website because the number of clicks may increase but there could a drastic fall in the sale. The ultimate aim of any website is to generate sales and if this purpose is not served the existence of the website becomes a question. It is usually seen that the immediate redesigning does not go well with the buyer. The only thing that it does is makes a web designer richer.

On the other hand there is gradual redesigning, a process to bring slow but effective changes in the web design. When the changes are slow it gives time to both the buyer and the seller to get adjusted to the changes. It gives the seller some room to experiment. Slow changes are not as obvious as immediate changes.

The fall in the sale in this case is not as drastic as compared to the fall due to immediate redesigning. Gradual redesigning helps in search engine optimization because the website owner comes to know what sort of web design fetches the most business. Gradual web designing makes the visitor feel that his/her preferences are taken care of.
