The holiday seasons are always around the corner. The month of December sneaks in, as always, with the trappings of jolly festivities and merry making. Before you realize that you do not have time to send your season's greetings, why don't you do card printing these days? Sending greeting cards can be enhanced if you do the prints yourself. Do not worry. If you want to go for quality card printing, you can always get the services of professionals. However, if you are up for any design challenge, you can always do the whole process on your own. If you wish to do the latter, here are the easy how-to steps.

- Prepare your paper stock. You can make use of paper stock that is available at your own home, but if you wish to have other paper stock options, visit your supply store. Also, make sure that your desktop printer has enough ink.
- Set the measurements for your cards. You may want to deviate from the normal size. Just make sure that the actual prints can fit in your mailing envelopes. You can also go for a non-standard shape for your cards.
- Make a working design template. Before you open your personal computer, ...
... why don't you make a draft of the design on paper? You may want to get suggestions from your family members, for example, if you are going to send them to your family members and friends.
- Use your preferred design software. Make a design template that will be appreciated by your receivers. Incorporate design elements, such as images in the template. However, make sure that the images you use are of high-resolution. Otherwise, you will end up with prints that look pixelated.
- Write your message. Pay equal attention to both design and content. However good the prints are if your message is not great, all your work may be futile. Spend some of your time composing your message, and making that sure your receivers would love to read it.
- After you have finalized the design and wrote the corresponding message, print a sample of your card. Check if the indentations, bordering, and lining are perfect. If you find mistakes on the design, make the appropriate revisions. Save the file of your design template.
- Print the cards using your desktop printer. Place it inside your mailing envelopes, and have them mailed.

Aside from the d-i-y card printing process, you can have other options. These include getting professional designers and commercial printers as well as getting all-in-one card printing services.

Getting professionals do the job

- Look for a graphic designer who can do the work. Take a look at their design portfolio.
- Provide your creative inputs. Collaborate with your graphic designer for the design.
- Get commercial printers for the card printing services. Make sure they are reputable.
- Check a sample of the print before you produce the cards en masse.

Go for card printing services

- You can find these services online. Find companies that offer card printing.
- Weigh your options. Find out how each company fares against their competitors.
- Get product samples, so you will know the quality of their work.
- Read online reviews to get an idea about the card printing services you are considering.
