Learning About A System Boiler
A system boiler ranks very high with boilers used in the UK. They rely on a special cylinder, which stores hot water, using an efficient system. This boiler is different from the combi, which has a circulating type of water heating or the condensing boiler, which uses a second heat exchanger to extend the heat and produce the most energy possible out of the system.
The system boiler has a feature that will not be found in the combi or condensing boiler. That is their built-in components that do not need extra parts, which are installed outside of other types of boilers. This makes both heating and installation very simple.
This type boiler is considered to be the most effective on the market today. It is economical to operate, while providing excellent heat. Water is pumped from the boiler, through radiators and the hot water cylinder, making it fast and efficient.
System boilers are also called heat-only boilers and are a kind of condensing boiler, making them fall between the Combi boiler and regular boilers. It has been engineered to have some of their advantages but not their disadvantages. The advantage ...
... of being able to avoid having a water storage tank has been appreciated by their users.
There are very strict requirements in the UK regarding the amount of fuel used to fire a boiler and the amount of the fuel that is actually converted to energy. The current amount of efficiency required is at least 86%. To pass this test boilers must show a superb heating performance while being economical.
There are distinct advantages to a system boiler. With the built in features it takes less space and is easier to install with water taken directly from the mains. In other words, there is no need for a cold water or feed and expansion tank, located in the attic, that some boilers require.
Since it stores hot water, it is very adaptable to larger homes that need more hot water at various points, the same time, such as two showers. They also work especially well in homes that have a low power pressure. The disadvantage, as compared to the combi, for example, is that more space is needed for the installation and heat can be lost from the hot water tank. They also cost more to run than some of the others, such as the combi and the condensing boilers. However, in the UK they are among the most popular boiler to have and are very efficient.
