Halal Food: Concerns Of General Public In Canada
If you see a sign of halal anywhere in the shops, it suddenly comes in mind that is related to halal meat but halal perspective is very wide in Islam. If we say halal food that means all the edibles which are used in the food should be from the halal source. Recently an issue is very hot regarding use of animal proteins in the halal meat which is obtained from the non halal source. Animal protein powder is used along with water to hold the protein and increase weight in boneless chicken. Companies providing that water holding protein are considered to be obtained from pork. This issue has created so many hue and cries in Muslim society. One more problem is that all the diagnostic test such as polymerase chain reaction which is used to identify the source of protein cannot give 100% result because DNA is changed in that protein. Strict measures should be adopted by the government to identify the culprits and strict restrictions should be planned. Moreover, bodies of the dead animals, blood and bones etc should not be included in the food chain.
Canada is full of people from different societies of the world. As a developed ...
... country, it is responsibility of the government to provide the food according to the religious beliefs belonging to different cultures of the world. Slaughter houses should be closely monitored for the proper slaughter and for proper storage of meat. Moreover, ingredients which are used in the processed food should be from the halal source as well. One more thing which can bring significant improvement is the labelling of all ingredients on all the processed food items which are consumed by Muslim society.
Concept of ZABIHA is well established in Muslims. So some specific slaughter houses in almost all regions of different cities should be established and staff should be hired accordingly who can meet all the religious requirements. Moreover, famous fast food providers such as Kentucky, Macdonalds, KFC and Pizza Hut should be provided with halal meat and all the products processed in these facilities should be labelled and offered accordingly. Additionally, it is also considered by most of the people that oil used in these fast food facilities is not form the halal source. It should also be considered seriously and actions should be taken be the government to ensure the authenticity of the halal food in all fast food places.
Conclusively, I may say that people are not 100% satisfied by the products available as for as the halal concept is concerned which can create an unrest in the society. People will really appreciate all the efforts of the government regarding this matter.
