Dogs in their later stages of life are more predisposed to arthritis. There are several types of arthritis that a dog can suffer from. These include osteochondrosis, degenerative joint disease, kneecap dislocation, dysplasia of the hip, elbow or knee, hytertrophic and wrist arthritis, and the stifled joint knee. The dog's way of showing you he/she is suffering from arthritis is via limping, inactivity or resistance to be moved or cuddled. Etogesic and Deramaxx are two pet products that can reduce or relieve the dog of the effects of arthritis; the key word here is relief. This is because arthritis has no cure and so neither Deramaxx nor Etogesic will heal your dog of arthritis.
Etogesic is a renowned drug that deals effectively with arthritis especially the Osteoarthritis type. Osteoarthritis is especially found in obese/overweight dogs and in older dogs too. Osteoarthritis comes about when there is new bone growth around the movable joint area and thus the abrasion that results ends up in the deterioration of the smooth cartilage that protects the ends of the bones. The unanticipated growth of the extended bone can come ...
... about after your dog has suffered injury or trauma in his/her bones. Etogesic in this case will offer your dog abundant relief from the pain in the joints.
Etogesic is a non inflammatory non steroidal drug that deals with the pain and inflammation in the subject joint. In a few days of Etogesic administration your dog will go back to its normal self. Etogesic has some few side effects which are known to be mild but which can be serious if not well attended to. These effects include lethargy, diarrhoea and vomiting.
Deramaxx for dogs is also very useful in relieving the effects of arthritis. Other than dealing with arthritis, Deramaxx is also very effective in controlling post surgical pain in dogs. This drug also features Deracoxib which has the non steroidal non inflammatory agent same as that in Etogesic.
Deramaxx is also a NSAID prescription drug. When used as a pain reliever after surgery, it needs to be administered until the dog has fully recovered from the surgical procedure and further until all pain appertaining to the surgery is gone.
Deramaxx is not to be administered in conjunction with other NSAID products such as ibuprofen, aspirin or Rimadyl. Doing this could worsen Deramaxx's side effects which include restlessness or depression, decreased appetite, increased thirst and urine volume, vomiting and change in colour of the dog's faeces.
