Stones occur wherever in the urinary tract (kidneys, bladder, ureters, urethra) and are called renal or urinary calculi. Occurrences in the salivary duct are called salivary calculi.
Chemical ions, molecules, and compound usually exist in urine (i.e., calcium, oxalate, phosphate, uric acid).

When the concentrations of these substances are high, they combine to form crystals. Under suitable ecological circumstances and with the aid of debris in the urinary tract, these crystals will grow and collective together resulting in the formation of larger crystals and finally stones.

Causes of Kidney Stones

Excess intake of meat, condiment and spices, white flour and sugar products, tea and coffee, acid forming foods.
