As our body starts ageing, many things that we can do now become difficult, making us dependent on others. After a long day anyone would love to soak in a bath, to ease the tensions and worries of the day. Unfortunately, this privilege cannot be availed by the older age group or the disabled since they find getting in and out of a standard bathtub difficult, risky and in some cases even injurious. For such people a walk in bathtub is the solution.

A walk in bathtub is a bathtub which is easily accessible, with self-sealing doors that can open inwards or outwards. Most of these bathtubs have a fairly comfortable seat and ensure safety and privacy as well. It gives the elderly a sense of dignity that comes with the ability to look after their personal hygiene without having to depend on a nurse or care giver. In walk in bathtubs with doors that open inwards, the door remains sealed due to the effect of the pressure of water within the tub. This prevents leaking of water on the bathroom floor. However, its greatest disadvantage is the difficulty of gaining access in times of emergency. In contrast, the doors that open outwards ...
... prevent leakage of water due to a special seal. While some walk in bathtubs have side walls which can be raised or lowered, others have sliding doors.

Some walk in bathtubs have a low step-in, high seats and doors which open outwards. These bathtubs are very comfortable for elderly people and those who are confined to a wheel chair. These bathtubs are designed with the comfort, safety, security and convenience of the user in mind.

A walk in bathtub offers a sense of independence which is very important and valuable to the elderly, the disabled and even arthritic people. As these bathtubs are low in height, it is easy for one to get in and get out of the tub. The anti- skid floor of the tub and the handles on the side of the tub ensures safety and prevents the user from falling. The built in seats are also a blessing for those who can no longer stand and take a shower.

A Walk in bathtub is synonymous to luxury. It will really improve the quality of your life. Click here to know more about Walk in bathtub
