Scottsdale Has The Most Top-ranked Golf Real Estate

Scottsdale, Arizona is without a doubt a golfer's paradise. The climate accommodates playing in year-round comfort, including more than 300 days of sunshine annually. Along with a wealth of luxurious Scottsdale golf real estate options, the number of golf courses to choose from is enormous, in fact, there are said to be over 50 courses within Scottsdale's city limits and more than 200 in the surrounding area. As ranked by Golf Digest in 2009, ten of the top 25 golf courses in Arizona are located in Scottsdale, which amounts to a larger percentage of the state's top-ranked courses than any other municipality in the nation.

Golf Magazine ranked four of Scottsdale's golf resorts among the nation's best in 2009— the Four Seasons Scottsdale at Troon North, The Boulders Resort and Golden Door Spa, The Phoenician and Fairmont Scottsdale. Three of Golf Digest's 75 Best 19th Holes are in Scottsdale, too.

If variety is indeed the spice of life, you might want to considering spicing up your game with the Scottish Golf Experience at Kierland Golf Club where players can dress in rented kilts and sip Johnnie Walker beverages on the greens, or literally swing to rock music on Grayhawk Golf Club's practice range.

In addition, Scottsdale is also a golf spectator's paradise. Every year, tens of thousands of people turn out to watch the golf world's top professionals in action at events, most notably, the PGA's Waste Management Phoenix Open at TPC Scottsdale. From unobstructed views of golf's top stars and a player-friendly course, to the lifestyle pavilion and Bird's Nest party area, it's no wonder this is known as the best-attended golf event in the world.

If you're not yet a golfer, Scottsdale is a great place to learn, and if you already play, it's definitely the place to hone your skills. To perfectly complement the great weather and many courses from which to choose, three of Golf Digest's America's 50 Greatest Teachers are or have been instructors in Scottsdale—Stan Utley at Grayhawk Golf Club (#9), Peter Kostis at Grayhawk Golf Club (#27) and Mike LaBauve at Kierland Golf Club (#31).

But golf in Scottsdale is not totally focused on fun and games, as evidenced by several Scottsdale golf courses that have achieved or are working towards certification in the Audubon International Cooperative Sanctuary Program, a program that requires golf facilities to protect the environment by enhancing precious natural areas and wildlife habitats.
