Now-a-days, various professional makers of custom wedding cards are available online as well as in offline market who give the perfect look of wedding invitations at the most reasonable price along with well written invitations as well as discount wedding accessories. But if you think you can design and write the invitations at home then you can do it definitely and can use discount wedding accessories on your custom wedding cards.

Following are the steps to write wedding invitations:

Step 1: First, find who is organizing or announcing the wedding from the following:
the bride's/ groom's parents or the bride or groom themselves.

Step 2: Find what kind of wedding invitations you want, a formal or informal. You can write as 'Mr. and Mrs. Jenny Michael request the honor of your presence at their special occasion' or can write a very casual phrase 'please join us at our special occasion'.

Step 3: If the wedding is going to be held in a place of worship then write 'the honor of your presence'.
If it will be held somewhere else then write 'the pleasure of your company' or any other formal ...
... phrase.

Step 4: If you are making traditional custom wedding cards then write the bride's name ( first and middle only) after her parents' names. Lets take an example, 'Mr. and Mrs. Jenny Michael request the honor of your presence at the wedding of their daughter, Kelly'.

Step 5: Write the bride's name with the complete name of the groom: 'to Anderson George.' You can also mention the name of the groom's parents: 'son of Mr. and Mrs. John George.'

Step 6: Mention the date of wedding: 'Sunday, the tenth of October, two thousand ten.

Step 7: Write out the time of the wedding: 'at eight PM'.

Step 8: Mention the location, land mark and complete address of venue.

Step 9: You must enclose a separate map and a stamped, self-addressed reply card.

You can also consider the following tips:

For an informal wedding, invitations are mostly written by hand. While designing the invitations, you are free to use your imagination
Add the names of all guests on the envelope

If you do not want to follow the traditional method or words then you can ask your stationer for some nice and different ideas or even you can have ideas from the custom wedding cards that you have received.
