Being Sexy - Crime Or Not?

When most men think about Russian women, "beautiful" and "sexy" are the first words that come to mind. If you look at the pictures of these women, you will indeed see sexy, appealing women, curvy bodies, playful poses, revealing clothes, and stunning beauty. Such photographs bring hundreds of men across the world to Russia, Ukraine, and other countries of the former Soviet Union, in search of "sexy Russian women." However, when men first come to dating services to meet Russian women, many seem cautious when they see many ladies described as "sexy" as to them this is a synonym to "easy". This must be one of those things that gets lost in translation, so allow me to explain. I am not going to discuss definition of "sexy" or talk about what it means to men in different countries, but I am going to explain what it means to Russian women.
When men travel to Russia to meet women, they bring their stereotypes along with souvenirs. In many European countries, a woman wearing a short skirt and heels might be considered of questionable conduct. However, it is absolutely untrue for Russia. If you look around, you will see ...
... hundreds of girls dressed this way. This alone should tell you that it is somewhat typical for the country, and therefore is not an indication of a girl being easy or anything of the sort. I remember when I first came to the US, I was excited when I found a pair of blood-red stilettos on sale (something I could not afford while living in Russia). I put them on once and never wore them again after my friends said only prostitutes wore such shoes - I had never heard of such nonsense and was really upset that my dream got ruined.
It is also important to remember that ratio of men in Russia is much lower than ratio of women. Therefore, women do their best to maintain most attractive appearance. I am sure, sometimes it happens on a subconscious level, nevertheless it's a fact. Just like desert plants have exceptionally bright and fragrant flowers to attract insects to pollinate them, so women always put their best foot forward through dressing attractively, looking appealing and well-groomed. As sad as it is, showing beauty before brains is sometimes the only way to be heard by a society based by chauvinistic principles and rules.
However, even if Russian women wear sexy clothes, it does not make them promiscuous. Loyalty and desire to form a family with a partner are engraved in Russian women's character. They are very devoted, and once they are married, they will do everything in their power to support and take care of the husband and the kids. Many women find themselves in situations, when their husbands cheat or drink, yet wives will maintain the family as long as they can despite any challenges and suffering. Russian womenare very good at taking care of the house, they learn to do so since young years and once the family hearth is formed, they pour their heart in it to provide comfort for the loves ones.
What I am trying to say is that Russian women should not be judged by their appearance - you will often find a sweet tender creature behind a sexy-looking siren in a photograph. Of course, if your Russian bride's dressing style turns out completely inappropriate for your country, you can always discuss it and explain to her (gently and tactfully) that your traditions are different from Russian traditions, and she can easily be misunderstood by other people in a manner, which could be offensive to her.
Whether you understand or not why Russian women wear revealing, short, sexy clothes or not, you cannot deny these women's beauty (I am yet to meet a man who would be able to remain indifferent to a long pair of legs in a mini-skirt and stilettos!). Before passing a judgment, look at the situation from the point of view of a woman's culture and you will understand that such attire is acceptable in her surrounding and in her world it does not bear any negative meaning.
