Every year in the NFL, a few teams manage to rise in the ranks and claim playoff spots, reversing their fortune from the previous season. Fans everywhere who watch NFL football live for the chance to see their beloved teams finally get over the hump and compete for a championship. Whether they are trying to get there through big free agent signings and trade acquisitions or solid drafting (or a little of both), all of these teams are coming into the 2010/2011 season intent on making their presence felt.

Miami Dolphins - Two years removed from a stunning AFC East division title, the Dolphins are coming into 2010 younger and healthier. Running back Ronnie Brown is fully recovered from foot surgery, and looks to get back into pro bowl form, splitting carries with a resurgent Ricky Williams. Many fans across the nation will watch NFL games online to see how the Dolphins will run their now famous Wildcat formation with both backs finally healthy.

An anemic passing game has received an overhaul. Chad Henne, who started much of last season at quarterback after Chad Pennington was lost to injury, showed flashed of brilliance, ...
... and has command of the starting job coming into 2010. This year, he will have the luxury of throwing to Brandon Marshall, one of the best receivers in the league (coming off three straight seasons of over 100 receptions in Denver) despite his occasional lapses in judgment off the field. The rosy offensive outlook, combined with a young, talented and bruising front seven on defense, gives the Dolphins high hopes, though they are stuck in the highly competitive AFC East.

Washington Redskins - The Washington Redskins are coming off a brutal 4-12 2009 campaign, plagued by offensive ineptitude. The team hopes that star quarterback Donovan McNabb, acquired from the Philadelphia Eagles during the offseason, will be the remedy. McNabb will be accompanied by a talented, but injury prone running back platoon of Larry Johnson, Willie Parker and Clinton Portis. Team owner Daniel Snyder has a penchant for getting his fans to watch NFL football live to see big names at a high cost, but this strategy has not worked well in the past; time will tell if 2010 will be different.

Defensively, the Redskins are still waiting to see what kind of an effort defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth will bring in 2010. After receiving the largest contract ever for a defensive lineman, Haynesworth has been a distraction, and unwilling to learn the Redskins' defensive scheme, prompting him to skip a mandatory minicamp this offseason. This team has the talent to make waves in the league this season, but personality issues and potential injuries will loom large, especially in the top-notch NFC East division.

Pittsburgh Steelers - After being preseason 2009 favorites, a shocking late season collapse sent the Steelers home early. This year, hard-hitting and disruptive safety Troy Polamalu returns in top form after being hampered with a nagging knee injury for much of last year. The rest of the defense is phenomenally talented, and will continue the franchise's reputation as tough and stingy on that side of the ball.

Pittsburgh doesn't come into 2010 without issues, though; quarterback Ben Roethlisberger could miss up to the first six games of the season, serving an NFL mandated suspension for his run-ins with the law. They will also miss their troubled but productive wideout Santonio Holmes, who was traded to the Jets because of his own legal issues. How the Steelers deal with the loss of these two stars as the season begins will determine whether or not they are playoff bound this year.

All three of these teams provide plenty of intrigue, but they only offer a glimpse into what should be a competitive and exciting season of football. In order to catch exciting teams like these three, more and more football enthusiasts are opting to watch NFL games online using sites such as http://pro-football-tv.com/.
