Acne scar removal products are very popular nowadays…and for good reason. Acne scars can be quite annoying and unsightly, and the fact that effective scar removal products are now so readily available is a benefit that many acne sufferers are eager to take advantage of.

Acne scars are typically left over from particularly vicious acne episodes from adolescence or early adulthood. Most of these scars are characterized by discoloration, deep pits in the skin, and enlarged pores at the site of the previous acne infection. These scars are often impossible to conceal completely, and they may give the skin a rough and/or uneven look.

Of course there are numerous alternatives to conventional scar-reducing products, and they range from dermabrasion procedures or laser treatment to over-the-counter medications. Unfortunately, many of these treatments can cost a lot of money, and they are not always effective.

Some of the acne scar removal products that have been proven particularly effective are those of the silicone variety such as InvisiScar®. This line of acne scar removal products offers ...
... an inexpensive and noninvasive treatment solution that will help you minimize the appearance of even the most visible acne scars. In general, silicone-based scar removal products offer a safer and more effective solution than the typical creams, gels, and oils that you can get over-the-counter, many of which have not been proven effective under extensive clinical testing procedures.

The way silicone-based acne scar treatments work is nothing short of miraculous. These products typically come in sheets that are meant to be applied directly on the affected area. The silicone in the product seeps into the skin and hydrates the deep scar tissue, softening the hardened layers of skin, and gradually reducing the signs of scarring.

When using the InvisiScar® products, you should make sure that the patch covers ¼ to ½ inch of the skin area around the scar. This will enhance the effect of the product and ensure secure adhesion. The entire patch should then be held in place with hypoallergenic tape.

InvisiScar® is meant to be used for only 1 to 2 hours a day, at least in the beginning treatment cycles. This will give your skin a chance to become accustomed to the patch and to the silicone. After a few days, you will then be able to leave the patch on for longer periods until you can wear it for the whole day. You may even apply the patch at night before going to bed and simply remove it the next day before going to work or school.

Silicone-based scar-diminishing products are generally safe to use, although they may cause minor side effects in some people. If you notice any sign of itching or irritation, it would be best to stop using the product for a few days. For general use, InvisiScar® is one of the safest and most effective acne scar removal products on the market today.
