I was attracted by the beauty of south east countries. Singapore is one of the best tourist destinations that I ever travelled in South East Asia. Singapore has a diverse populace of different culture. It is made up of Chinese, Malays, Indians, Caucasians and Eurasians (plus other mixed groups) culture. I really love to observe their multi culture activities. It's amazing that they value each other's culture.

I have planned to visit Singapore especially to spend my weekend exploring little china. I would like to share about the Chinese area that I have visited. It was really interesting to see their life style, culture and cuisine. It was a wonderful picnic to the Chinese destination based in Singapore.

China Town:

The popular Chinese destination in Singapore is "China Town". It is the traditional Chinese quarters of Singapore. It has got modern and the traditional past of Chinese in the same place. The area is also known as Niu Che Shui.

It has got the name "China town" due to the fact that most Chinese immigrants settled here. It is the hub to sense the Chinese life style. So British nicknamed ...
... the area as "China Town". The Chinatown and central business district (CBD) area is a buzzing district in Singapore.

There are plenty of restored shop houses along the Telok Ayer Street and Amoy Street. They have all kind of handicrafts made in China and few of Singaporean handcrafts. I have purchased a bell type of hanging handcrafts. We can hear nice bell rings when we touch the hangings. It is popular in China. The charges are also okay. It is a wonderful place for shopping.

I have visited Buddhist wisdom hall and the panoramic view of Fook Tet Soo Hakka attracts many travelers. There is a Chinese Methodist church. Unfortunately, I could not make my visit during the worship. I have taken nice photographs of the exterior beauties of the church.

There are Thian Hock Temple, Mosque, Hindu temple and traditional Buddhist cultural museum. It has ultimately represents the spiritual values of the Chinese.

After visiting the temples, I felt hungry and it was the time for my lunch.

Food:

I was tried getting into the Hawker food center to have lunch but it was crowded like anything. It offers all kind of food varieties at economical price. Fish porridge is popular in Amoy street food center. Then I had a wonderful Chinese variety at Amoy street food center. Also there is another food center called "Lau Pa Sat".

Beng Hang Restaurant provides traditional Chinese food items. Ya Kun Kaya Toast also provide yummy Chinese cuisine.
After my lunch, my guide has taken me to the huge Chinese Heritage center.

China Town Heritage Center:

We can explore the Chinatown heritage centre to study the ancient history of the area. I spent my major time roaming around the heritage center. The laboratory has so many amazing information of the ancient culture of China. It was really interesting.

Heritage center will take us to the "china town" in British period. It has designed how the china town looks in the past. I got impressed on the first level of China town heritage center. It replicates how the shop house or Chinese living quarters look in the past.

My Dinner:

I had ethnic Chinese dinner at Bee Heong Palace restaurant. The hospitality is good and the quality of food is also nice. The charges are mid range. I have tasted roasted chicken, Kong Bak Pau and stewed pork belly. I would recommend you Kong Bak Pau. It was so delicious.

It will be crowded during the lunch time. If you are planning to dine during the lunch, you should reserve the seat in advance via phone. It is located in China town district. The exact location is called Telok Ayer Street.

There are plenty of Chinese restaurant located in the Orchard road. People in Singapore have a great passion for Chinese cuisine. My tourist guide listed out 50 Chinese restaurants in Singapore.

I really enjoyed my trip to China Town. Singapore inherits the culture of China initiated by the ancestor Chinese. China Town shelters its ancestral properties.
