The World Series of Poker is known as one of the most popular events in the world today. This game has evolved over the years into something that has caught the attention of the world. As the World Series of Poker has gotten so popular over the past years, many people have been driven to take their luck and try to join the gambling world. This sort of popularity isn't something that just came over night however. The World Series of Poker has been building in popularity for years. Each year the event would take place at Binion's Horseshoe and attracted the best players in the world. Each year the event would grow more and more until it became what it is today. As the competition started to weed out bit by bit Dastmachi continued to succeed. He soon found himself at the final table and began to be a key factor in the downfall of player after player. When all was said and done Dastmachi managed to win the whole thing. With that victory he managed to take home a million dollars in cash. This was the second World Series of Poker event where the winner ended up with such a significant chunk of money.

There were other examples of foreign players having success in the 1992 World Series of Poker. The preliminary events were heavily populated by foreign players in the last rounds of play. This was the year that the players from other parts of the world really showed America that they could play just as well as the Americans in the World Series of Poker. This sort of worldwide publicity was a huge factor in the growth of the tournament to what it is today.
