Cosmetic Liposuction - Chin Liposuction
The chin is a defining aspect of an individual's facial structure, and thus part of their first impressions. As we age, subcutaneous fat collects in the chin area, creating what we refer to as the "double chin." And although we usually think of a double chin as affecting only the aging and the overweight, a double chin can happen to anyone of any age, depending on their bone structure and genetics.
Thankfully, there is an answer to this frustrating and often embarrassing condition: chin liposuction. Through a minimally invasive procedure, an experienced liposuction surgeon, for example, Dr. David Amron, can tighten and sculpt a patient's chin. The procedure can take year's off a patient's face and increase self-confidence.
Many experienced surgeons, including Dr. Amron, prefer to use a local anesthetic while performing chin liposuction. Unlike general anesthesia, there is no risk for blood clots. In addition, patients remain awake and mobile (although they do not feel any pain.) The doctor is thus allowed to move the patient around and gain better access to the treated area. The doctor can avoid irregularities, ...
... like dimpling, and also create a more even and sculpted look.
During chin liposuction, the doctor will make a few small incisions, just millimeters long, to insert the microcannula. A microcannula is a cylindrical tool used to break up and remove fat. The incisions will heal so that they are almost invisible.
Following chin liposuction, the patient will be up and moving around. The patient will be asked to wear a compression garment to promote healing and reduce swelling. The full results of the surgery will be seen in about 6 months, although initial swelling will subside in a few days.
It is important to have all your questions answered and concerns addressed previous to the surgery.
