Ram Gopal Verma's Rakta Charitra is a forthcoming multi-lingual film. The maverick director has also penned the script for the film. The film is in Telugu and will also be dubbed in Hindi and Tamil. The film is a depiction of the life of the slain political leader Paritala Ravindra played by Vivek Oberoi, with Surya enacting the role of Maddelacheruvu Suri, Shatrughan Sinha playing N. T. Rama Rao, along with Kota Srinivasa Rao and Radhika Apte in other crucial roles. The film which is in its final lap of production will be released in October 2010.
Ram Gopal Varma recently addressed the media in Chennai to brief them about this upcoming film. Interacting with media channels on this film, he disclosed that it's a film about a man's journey of fifteen years filled with forcefulness and revenge. On his part actor Surya added that the film belongs to everyone as even the characters with minimum prominence will add depth and meaning to this drama based on real incidents.

Hindi Film Industry's reigning superstar Shatrughan Sinha performs the role of Former AP Chief Minister Late N. T. Rama Rao. The film marks the debut of Surya in Bollywood and is getting dubbed in Tamil and Telugu as well. The Tamil version has been titled as Raktha Charitra. Vivek Oberoi will be dubbing in his own voice in Hindi as well as in Tamil, similar to what he did for his film ‘Prince'. Let's hope that this much awaited film helps Vivek Oberoi in salvaging his career, which has been on a downward trail.
Muthukumar has penned lyrics for a song that is based on Raktham (Blood) and former journalist Gnyanavel has written dialogues for the Tamil version. The film's post production works are close on the heels of completion and while cinegoers will have to wait till for the Hindi version till October, 2010, the hit in Tamil and Telugu versions hit the screens simultaneously earlier.
