Anjaana Anjaani is an upcoming romantic film that stars Priyanka Chopra and Ranbir Kapoor in the lead roles. The film is in its post production phase and is set for release on 24th September, 2010. The promos of the film suggest that the film will be an interesting watch with all the ingredients of a romantic film.
Anjaana Anjaani is about two strangers who meet and fall in love. There are two primary characters in the film, while the other characters are onlookers of how their relationship develops. The film's story line is similar to the story of the 1995 cult film 'Before Sunrise' that starred Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy. But unlike Before Sunrise, Anjaana Anjaani has a happy ending, true to the character of Hindi films.
Anjaana Anjaani is a romantic comedy, where Priyanka plays a character based in San Francisco, while Ranbir is essays the role of a New York City boy. They meet in NYC and travel across cities. Director Siddharth Anand has previously directed several films like Bachna Ae Haseeno, Tara Rum Pum and Salaam Namaste for Yashraj Films and is known to create remakes. Salaam Namaste was a remake of Nine Months and Tara Rum Pum was a remake of Life is Beautiful. However the director denies Anjaana Anjaani is a remake of 'Before Sunrise' and attributes the idea of his film to his wife, who, he says, may have seen ‘Before Sunrise'. For ‘Anjaana Anjaani' he has broken away from the Yashraj banner and has Sajid Nadiadwala as the producer. The film has been shot widely across San Francisco and Los Angeles with a few scenes also being shot in New York. The songs have been composed by musical duo Vishal-Shekhar. Lucky Ali has been roped in to sing all the tracks for Ranbir. This is the first time Priyanka is pairing with Ranbir.
