The Hyundai Santa Fe was introduced in the year 2000 and is named after Santa Fe New Mexico. The first Hyundai Santa Fe was nothing short of an amusing vehicle to behold especially for a SUV. In spite of this, the Korean made vehicle has continued to win over the hearts and minds of many North American buyers due to its safety records and cost effectiveness.

This original SUV Hyundai engine was a 2.4 liter, 4 cylinder carbureted motor. Later on, the 2.7 liter Hyundai engine was introduced proving to be more popular than the 2.4 liter engine that only came as an automatic front wheel drive. In typical Hyundai fashion, the vehicle was later redone in an all wheel drive version although not much about the vehicle changed.

In the year 2003, the 3.5 liter V6 engine was introduced and the only difference between this version of the vehicle and the earlier editions was the new dash board. Thus far, in the SUV categories, Hyundai had managed to manufacture the GL, GLS and LX versions of the SUV. The Hyundai Company always found ways to tweak the vehicles ...
... ever so slightly and a change of dashboard was enough to convince most consumers that this was indeed a new vehicle.

Worth noting is that 2 years prior to the release of the 3.5 liter V6 engine, Hyundai had made some changes to the GLS and LX versions. The latter version got a CD system while the former version got a new stereo with the Hyundai engine that powered them remaining unchanged. Both inclusions were however reflected accordingly on the overall price tag of the vehicle. In short, the one with a stereo system retailed at a slightly higher price than the one without. For the frugal amongst us, it would have made more sense to buy the vehicle without a stereo system and carry a walk man around instead.

The Hyundai engine has not seen much change either although the drive train has been tweaked several times in order to improve the vehicles power. The torque may have improved but the Hyundai engine is not about to reach any significant speeds or power levels in the near future.

For the original Hyundai engine the situation may have been bleak, but for the new generation Santa Fe drive train, things are looking up especially for the consumer. There are three versions of this new vehicle as well. These are GLS, SE and Limited. The GLS comes with 3.3 liter V6 engine, power windows and heated mirrors. The S.E on the other hand comes with a V6 engine, stereo buttons on the steering wheel and a 3.3 liter Hyundai engine. The Limited has the same Hyundai engine capacity as the other two with the added advantage of internal temperature control. In all three vehicles, the fuel system is direct injection and they come in petrol or diesel versions.

The vehicles drive train is fairly decent and the Hyundai engine does exactly what is expected of it every single time. The fact that the consumer is in a position to get a drive train warranty should lure them even more towards the Hyundai engine. Consequently, those looking for a functional vehicle will not be disappointed.

Hyundai has continued to improve on its drive train every single time even though some of the changes are so minute we miss them entirely.

About: The Used Hyundai engine gives the consumer good value for money and if nothing else, it is quiet. Hyundai has been one of the more popular vehicles in the market but as a consumer; buy it because it is practical.
