Kits Beach. This beautiful beach in the Kitsilano neighbourhood offers a combination of fresh ocean air, mountain views, and a laid back West Coast atmosphere. There are several great cafes nearby, so you can grab a specialty coffee, a smoothie, or a snack and head to the beach for a stroll.

The Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts. This restaurant is great for those who want to experience top notch food from the superstar chefs of tomorrow for a fraction of the price that you would expect to pay for a restaurant of this quality. There is also a superb bakery on site.

The China Town area of Vancouver is a busy and bustling hub. You can escape all of the noise and the crowds by paying a visit to the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden. These Chinese gardens are replicas of the real thing, and are the biggest outside of China itself, complete with cherry blossom trees and tranquil streams.

Main Street. Between 49th avenue and 55th, Main Street is crammed with shops selling beautiful Indian foods, fabrics, and jewellery. Farther up the street you can find lots of second hand stores, antiques shops, second ...
... hand bookstores, cafes, a pool hall, and several art galleries and restaurants.

Chinatown. This is the second largest Chinatown in the world, outside of China of course, and is completely authentic. Here you can see the Chinese Cultural Centre, the Sun Yat Sen garden and park, a street market, many fine Chinese restaurants, and a gelato shop that stocks over 200 different flavours of ice cream.

The Central Library. This stunning complex was designed by Moshe Safdi, who designed Habitat in Montreal. There is a courtyard, which is a great place to sit down and grab a bite to eat, and they also host regular readings and performances.

A favourite with children and adults alike, the Vancouver Aquarium has more than seventy thousand marine animals, including dolphins, octopuses and exotic fish, and a whole host of other creatures including rare tropical butterflies and birds from all over the world.

The Macmillan Space Centre. This is a great place to come if you want to find out about the wonders of the cosmos, with constantly changing exhibits alongside more permanent installations. There are two theatres inside showing a wide variety of space themed films and presentations every day. Our guide to the best attractions in Vancouver was written by Bonny Kominek, a professional tourist guide. They recommend checking the Octopus Travel website for the latest Vancouver hotels deals all year round.
