Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
Your 5 days best Uganda wildlife safari tour begins with an early morning departure from Kampala Uganda or Entebbe, heading north to Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest and most famous wildlife reserve. Along the way, enjoy scenic views of the lush countryside, rolling hills, and rural homesteads. A stopover will be made at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking, giving you a chance to see these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat.
The journey will continue and you will arrive at the park in the afternoon, check in at your lodge and then embark on a visit to the top of Murchison Falls, where the Nile River squeezes through a narrow gorge, creating a spectacular waterfall. Capture breathtaking photos and enjoy the refreshing mist from the roaring falls before heading back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Morning Game Drive & Afternoon Boat Safari
On our second day, you will wake up a bit early for a morning game drive on the northern banks of the Nile, where you will spot diverse wildlife such as elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, lions, leopards, and several species of antelopes. The early morning hours provide the best chances for predator sightings as they hunt for prey.
You will then return to the lodge for breakfast and some relaxation before heading for an afternoon boat safari on the Victoria Nile. This leisurely cruise brings you close to hippos, crocodiles, and various bird species such as the African fish eagle, herons, and the rare shoebill stork. The boat ride leads to the base of Murchison Falls, where you will be able to see the thunderous waters plunging down. After this incredible experience, you will return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
After an early breakfast, you will begin the journey to Kibale Forest National Park, renowned for its rich primate population. This scenic drive takes you through stunning landscapes, lush forests, and traditional villages. A lunch stop will be made en route before continuing to Kibale.
Upon arrival in the late afternoon or evening, check in at your lodge and relax as you prepare for the exciting chimpanzee tracking experience the following day. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay in the heart of the rainforest.
Day 4: Chimpanzee Tracking & Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After an early breakfast, head into Kibale Forest for a thrilling chimpanzee tracking experience. Accompanied by expert guides, venture into the dense rainforest in search of these playful and intelligent primates. Along the way, you may also encounter other primates such as red colobus monkeys, L’Hoest’s monkeys, and grey-cheeked mangabeys, as well as a variety of bird species. Spend an hour observing the chimpanzees in their natural habitat before returning to the lodge.
After lunch, transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, arriving in the afternoon. Check in at your lodge and embark on a short game drive for a chance to see elephants, buffaloes, and, if lucky, the elusive leopards.
In the evening, relax and enjoy dinner at the lodge as you prepare for the next day's adventure.
Day 5: Game Drive & Kazinga Channel Boat Safari – Return to Kampala
Begin your final safari day with an early morning game drive in the Kasenyi plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park. This section of the park is famous for its large lion populations, which often prey on the abundant Uganda kobs. Other animals to look out for include hyenas, elephants, and warthogs.
After breakfast, embark on a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a natural waterway that connects Lake George and Lake Edward. This experience offers some of the best wildlife viewing opportunities, as the banks are teeming with hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and numerous bird species.
Following the boat cruise, and then begin the return journey to Kampala or Entebbe, with a lunch stop en route. Arrive in the late afternoon or evening, marking the end of your incredible 5-day Uganda Wildlife Safari Tour.
