Acadia Owners Out Of Warranty Buy Used Engines
SUV lovers across the nation have fallen in love with the Acadia crossover SUV from General Motors, as evidenced by the over 200,000 sales in the United States alone since its very recent release in 2006. Marketed as the GMC for non-truck folks, the Acadia comes with a 6-speed automatic transmission and a powerful V6 engine with 275 - 288 horsepower. Built for luxury, the spacious interior features leather upholstery and chrome and satin nickel textures, and can seat up to eight persons. It is also known for its amazing towing capacity and can pull up to 4,500 pounds of weight.
The Acadia comes with a few different types of warranties. The Basic Warranty covers many of the things that usually go wrong in a car, barring, of course, items that are subject to the vehicle's normal wear and tear. Continuing after the Basic Warranty has expired, the Drive Train Warranty option covers the parts that make the automobile move, excluding consumable parts much like the Basic Warranty. The other warranties include many different variations of roadside assistance programs.
But sometimes things go wrong that aren't covered ...
... by your warranty program. No matter how well made the vehicle or how extensive the warranty plan, eventually it may still run into problems that aren't covered. Often the first problems that come up have to do with the engine or the transmission, and these can be costly to repair yourself if they happen to fall outside of your warranty program.
Although some people can afford to replace their cars with new ones when they break down, many people have instead opted to put used engines into their out-of-warranty Acadias. The advantages of used engines are many. First of all, this is a cheaper option than buying a whole new car. Unlike a new car, there are very few extra taxes on used engines, and no hidden costs. There are no premium insurance rates, just your same old car at its same old rates, only now with a much better engine.
Second of all, you get to keep the car you have grown to love and trust. You get your very own car back again; it's running like a champion and purring like a kitten—and all at a very low price. You get to keep that familiar feel of it, the way your back slips into the seat just right, the wash me written into the dust on your back window. It's your car, only now it's better.
Another advantage of used engines is the recycling factor. Not only are you helping make the world greener by recycling perfectly good used engines out of extinct vehicle bodies, but you are also recycling the body of your own vehicle, which, if not, may sit rotting in some junkyard for years after. With option of used engines, you have the ability to combine two partially working parts into one complete whole, and then put it to work for you. What could be greener than that?
Most used engines are inspected carefully before being sold and placed into another vehicle, but just the same, be sure yours is checked carefully for any flaws.
